Chapter 134: The Caravan Sets Out

Big Boss Builds Infrastructure in the Interstellar Era

In the end, with her shameless nonsense and masterful ability to talk her way out of anything, Wu Xingyu successfully managed to get ten of the worst-looking orchids from Mo Xie.

Two pots of pure white, five pale yellow, and three yellow-green.

What’s more, Mo Xie even agreed to plant more white magnolias and promised to supply at least one flower a day to Lou Wai Lou as a cooking ingredient. Thanks to that, Lou Wai Lou now had a new signature dish featuring orchids as the main ingredient.

When Wu Xingyu came back to share her victory, Yun Qimu immediately said she wanted to try it too. “How about we postpone our departure until tomorrow and try this new orchid dish today?”

Wu Xingyu shot her a bland glance. “The white magnolias in Uncle’s greenhouse haven’t bloomed yet. Supply starts the day after tomorrow.”

“So we have to wait two more days?”

Yun Qimu’s face fell, her voice full of grievance and a hint of reluctance, clearly wanting to delay their departure again.

Wu Xingyu’s dark eyes saw right through her. She scolded, “You’ve already delayed us for three days. Even a turtle is more diligent than you. If you don’t leave today, we’ll just go without you.”

Yun Qimu immediately realized things were getting serious—this poker-faced beauty was actually angry!

She hurriedly said, “Alright, alright, let’s go this afternoon. We’ll leave this afternoon!”

“That’s more like it.” Pei Yu, who’d been watching, finally breathed a sigh of relief. He’d been grinding monsters for days and hadn’t gotten anything useful—couldn’t even earn a single spirit coin. At this rate, when would he ever be able to afford a holy potion? He was quite attached to his little life and didn’t want anything to happen to it.

So, he could only pin his hopes on the trading trip—even though he also wanted to try Lou Wai Lou’s new dish.

“Oh right, Village Chief Yun, didn’t you buy a bottle of holy potion for Uncle Yun? How did it work? Did all the dark matter really disappear?” Pei Yu perked up and asked.

Yun Qimu’s pout immediately turned into a smile, her eyes sparkling. “The holy potion worked exactly as described. All the dark matter in my dad’s body was removed. He used to get irritable and cranky from time to time, but now he just grins like a fool. The kids like him a lot more now too.”

Unfortunately, while the dark matter was gone, Dad Yun’s mind hadn’t improved—he was still the same simpleton who only listened to his son and daughter.

“That’s great!” Pei Yu didn’t notice the shadow in her eyes, busy calculating how many more spirit coins he needed.

After counting all his coins, he slumped in defeat. Two million spirit coins still seemed so far away. If they passed by Molan City this time, he’d definitely have to retrieve his little stash.

Once they finished making a batch of Danmu soft candy and harvesting all the fruits and vegetables from the greenhouse, the perpetually procrastinating caravan was finally ready to set out.

Caravan members: Wu Xingyu, Yun Qimu, Pei Yu, Yuan An, and Yun He—a total of five people.

Caravan leader: Wu Xingyu.

Goods: Water, greenhouse fruits and vegetables, green jelly stones, clothes, Danmu soft candy, spices, orchids, plus various odds and ends from each member.

Transportation: “Card Pegasus”—three flying white horses.

At the village entrance, Wu Xingyu looked at Yun Qimu, who was holding out her hand expectantly. The beauty’s face darkened. “You’re riding the flying horses too, and you still want to charge rent?”

Yun Qimu replied righteously, “Why shouldn’t I? We agreed that on the day of the trading trip, I’d rent them to you—ten spirit coins a day.”

“But that was only if you weren’t coming, and I was using the Pegasus myself.”

“Oh, so you want to use it yourself? You should’ve said so earlier.” Yun Qimu pulled out the card, grabbed Wu Xingyu’s hand, and slapped it into her palm, grinning brightly. “See? The card’s in your hand now.”

A vein throbbed on Wu Xingyu’s forehead. She ground her teeth. “That’s not what I meant. Don’t twist my words.”

Yun Qimu shrugged, grinning cheekily. “Fine, I won’t twist your words. But my card is for the whole caravan to use. As the caravan leader, what’s wrong with you paying for transportation? It’s only fair.”

Wu Xingyu pressed her lips together, card in hand, her dark eyes swirling with suppressed emotion. “Then by our old rules, the caravan leader gets an extra ten percent of the profits. That’s fair too, right?”

Yun Qimu glared at her. Wu Xingyu snorted, her beautiful face proud and unyielding.

The other caravan members and villagers who’d come to see them off were all stunned by the invisible sparks flying between the two.

Weren’t the village chief and Wu Xingyu supposed to be inseparable, with a relationship so good they were practically a couple already?

Do couples really have this much tension?

The villagers felt cheated—what kind of sweet romance was this?

In the end, their standoff was broken only when Mo Xie, unable to watch any longer, pointed out that it was getting late. Yun Qimu backed down a little, lowering the rent to nine spirit coins a day instead of ten.

Wu Xingyu reluctantly agreed to rent the “Pegasus” at that price.

And so, Yun Qimu took one horse for herself, while Wu Xingyu, face dark as thunder, had to share with the left-behind Pei Yu. The three white horses carried the five of them up into the sky.

Once they left Earth Village, the cold wind quickly turned warm, and the bright blue sky became a hazy gray.

Yun Qimu, well-prepared, took off her thick outer coat, revealing a graceful, elegant dress underneath.

It was the most comfortable and beautiful style Dailisi had conjured up in the past few days—a soft caramel color, both practical and stylish. The fabric was supple and draped perfectly, never wrinkling no matter how much you moved. Clearly, Dailisi hadn’t been lying—her conjured clothes really were as good as those made for royalty.

Yun Qimu had fallen in love with it at first sight and bought it for herself.

Of course, the key was that this French court-style dress was exquisitely designed: short lace puff sleeves, gathered lace at the chest, straps tied into a bow, showing off her fair swan neck. Below, a coffee-colored corset was laced tight, accentuating her slender waist, so delicate it seemed you could hold it in one hand.

From the details to the overall look, it was all stunning—low-key luxury and beauty. Riding the white flying horse, the fine mesh of her skirt brushing her ankles, Yun Qimu looked like a figure from a beautiful oil painting. Even the gray sky couldn’t dim her radiance.

If only the background were green mountains and blue sky, it would be perfect.

Happily, Yun Qimu stretched her hands above her head and deftly braided her hair into a fishtail plait, looking even more like an innocent, charming noble lady.

Wu Xingyu glanced over casually, almost unable to tear her eyes away.

“Wow, Village Chief Yun, you look amazing—like a goddess!” Pei Yu shouted exaggeratedly from behind.

Wu Xingyu snapped out of it, quickly looking away and scolding him with a frown, “Stop gawking around, unless you want to fall off and die.”

Pei Yu choked, pouted, and sat up straight.

Hmph, this brat only knows how to threaten people."
