Chapter 156: A Match Made in Heaven

Big Boss Builds Infrastructure in the Interstellar Era

Watching the lively crowd around them, all looking but not buying, and occasionally coming over just to haggle, Yun Qimu started to feel bored. She stood up, picked up her little stool, and said, “Let’s pack up for today. I’m hungry—how about we go eat first?”

Pei Yu rubbed his stomach, then glanced at a burly woman nearby who was eyeing him up like a piece of meat. He couldn’t help but shiver and immediately jumped up to agree, “Yes, let’s stop selling for now. Let’s eat first. We’ve only just started selling today anyway, there’s no rush to get rid of this stuff.”

Wu Xingyu silently stood up and packed away his stool.

“Hey, hey, Miss Yun, you’re packing up already?” Shen Tu hurried over carrying an empty wooden basket and saw them tidying up. He quickly called out to stop them.

“Yeah, are you here to return the basket?” Yun Qimu looked up at him, raising an eyebrow.

“Ah, yes, yes, sorry I took a bit longer. I was hoping to buy some more green jelly stones—do you still have any?” Shen Tu craned his neck to look at the stall, his face full of worry, afraid he’d missed out just because he’d gone to the bathroom.

Seeing his anxious look, Yun Qimu guessed he must’ve gotten a sweet one last time—pretty lucky.

Most other buyers, nine out of ten, got all sorts of weird and spicy flavors, with only one getting a sweet one. That made people start doubting the odds of getting a sweet green jelly stone, and sales cooled off. Only those who’d gotten a sweet one before would come back for a second or third try.

Shen Tu must be one of the lucky ones.

“We’ve got plenty left. How many do you want? Big ones or small ones?” Yun Qimu called him over, while Wu Xingyu cooperatively set the stall cloth back down and took out several green jelly stones of different sizes.

From left to right, they ranged from small to large.

There were ones as thick as a thumb, as big as a fist, as big as two fists, as big as a head... and finally, one green jelly stone that was even taller and bigger than Shen Tu himself.

Shen Tu gasped—how many apples would that be worth?

He swallowed hard, his eyes glued to the biggest one. “That one—how much is that one?”

Yun Qimu gave him an approving look. Good eye—he went straight for the biggest.

She’d nearly caused a second avalanche digging that one up the other day!

“I was planning to make this one the centerpiece of my stall, but since you seem like a good guy, I’ll give you a special price—100,000 energy credits, flat.”

Shen Tu’s eyes went wide, grinning so hard his gums showed. No one had ever called him a good guy before—Miss Yun sure had a good eye.

Just as he was about to agree, Dou Xing strolled over with his hands in his pockets, a cocky look on his face. He sneered, “A hundred thousand? Shen Tu, do you even have that much?”

“And are you sure such a big piece will be sweet? What if it’s stinky or bitter?”

Dou Xing glanced at the huge green jelly stone, curiosity in his eyes.

Unlike Shen Tu, who’d just buy and go, Dou Xing had been sitting at the stall all day, watching people open their green jelly stones—some got biohazard-level stink bombs, some got spicy ones that turned their faces red as monkey butts, breathing fire from their mouths...

Those scenes were pretty tragic—just thinking about them was kind of entertaining.

“Dou Xing—!” Shen Tu’s face immediately turned fierce, glaring angrily. “Why are you here stirring up trouble? Weren’t you supposed to go out with Lou Yan? Why are you still here?”

Dou Xing smirked, “Didn’t you know? Brother Yan left me here to hold down the fort—I don’t have to go out.”

“What—”

Shen Tu’s mouth dropped open, his rugged face twisting in shock, annoyance, and frustration.

If Dou Xing stayed, he’d get to eat all the fresh fruits and veggies too! Shen Tu had specifically told the cooks to go heavy on the spices, make the food as delicious as possible, and planned to make Dou Xing drool when he got back. But now, this mad dog wasn’t leaving.

He’s really not leaving!!!

Dou Xing couldn’t help but laugh at Shen Tu’s expression.

Shen Tu glared, stomping his feet in anger.

Yun Qimu, watching from the side, reminded him, “So, Brother Tu, are you buying or not? If not, I’m packing up.”

“I’ll buy, I’ll buy!” Shen Tu quickly turned back, shouting anxiously, “Miss Yun, I’ll buy it! But I only have 30,000 energy credits on me—can I pay the rest later? I’ll go back and gather the rest.”

Afraid she wouldn’t believe him, he patted his chest and promised, “I’m Shen Tu from Honglian Village. I’d never stiff you, Miss Yun, don’t worry.”

Yun Qimu thought for a moment. “How long do you need?”

Shen Tu’s eyes lit up. “A day—no, half a day! I’ll have it all before dark.”

“Alright.” Yun Qimu nodded. “Our shop doesn’t usually do credit, and I can’t set a precedent. But since you’re so sincere, I’ll reserve this green jelly stone for you. As long as you haven’t said you don’t want it, I won’t sell it to anyone else. How’s that?”

Shen Tu thought about it. “That works! I’ll come find you as soon as I have the credits.”

After they finished their deal, Wu Xingyu had already packed everything up.

Yun Qimu called over to Zhong Qiu, who was pestering Hu Yi for another Danmu soft candy, “Let’s go. Weren’t you inviting us to stay at the Longteng base? Is now a good time?”

Zhong Qiu had just popped a candy in her mouth. Hearing this, her eyes went wide and she nodded eagerly, “Of course, of course! We can go right now.”

The Longteng crew gathered around Wu Xingyu, Pei Yu, and the others, laughing and chatting as they escorted them toward the Longteng base.

Shen Tu watched them go, full of regret. “Those Longteng guys beat us to it. If only I’d invited Miss Yun to our base, it’d be even easier to buy from her.”

Dou Xing was amazed by his cluelessness. “Why don’t you just make her our village’s lady boss? If she marries into Honglian Village, that’d be even better.”

His sarcastic remark made Shen Tu slap his forehead in sudden realization. “You’re right! If Miss Yun became our lady boss, maybe she’d let us eat fruit and veggies for free! Our chief is such a good guy—he could definitely get us all sorts of perks from Miss Yun.”

He decided he’d have to bring this up to the chief. The chief was handsome and capable, Miss Yun was beautiful and had all sorts of good stuff—truly a match made in heaven.

Dou Xing’s mouth twitched in disbelief. “You’re not much to look at, but you sure can dream. She already has a husband, you know.”

Shen Tu didn’t care. “So what? No one can compare to our chief. As long as he makes a move and Miss Yun’s willing, who cares about her husband?”

Dou Xing was stunned—he never expected this big oaf to have such bold ideas.

Had he misjudged this guy all along?"
