Chapter 176: The Plant Nutrient Solution Formula

Big Boss Builds Infrastructure in the Interstellar Era

Early morning, at the Yun family’s small wooden house.

Father and son of the Yun family were already up bright and early. Father Yun was crouched in the bathroom scrubbing clothes, while little Yun Xiaoyu, with his short legs pumping, dashed out to buy breakfast.

This morning, Auntie Song from the restaurant had prepared flatbread and sliced noodle soup for breakfast. Both were her specialties—the flatbread was stuffed with meat, crispy and fragrant, sprinkled with sesame seeds, looking irresistibly appetizing. The sliced noodle soup was made with the freshest fish broth, its flavor rivaling even her signature fish soup, perhaps even fresher and more delicious.

Yun Qimu was eating so intently she could barely lift her head, inwardly praising once again how reliable these “NPCs molded by Nüwa herself” were. If only she could get another one!

Seeing Yun Qimu slurping away, already finishing a big bowl, Yun Xiaoyu looked up at her, his little eyes glancing at her bowl. “Do you want more? There’s another bowl on the table.”

Yun Qimu patted her stomach and burped without any pretense. “No, I’m full. Leave the last bowl for Dad.”

“Oh.” Yun Xiaoyu nodded obediently, though he felt a little disappointed inside.

He’d already shared half of his own soup with Dad, and this extra bowl was bought especially for Qimu.

Father Yun noticed his son’s expression and quickly patted his own stomach too, shaking his head. “Dad’s full too, I won’t have any more.”

“Oh, then I’ll put this bowl in my storage and take it with me. Food outside can’t compare to Auntie Song’s cooking.” Yun Qimu grinned, putting the big bowl into her spatial storage, then thanked Yun Xiaoyu and asked if they still wanted the three big flatbreads left on the table.

Yun Xiaoyu’s cheeks flushed red and he replied with a touch of pride, “No, you can take them all. Dad and I can buy fresh ones every day, we’re not short of these.”

He wasn’t wrong. Ever since the restaurant opened, his little savings had grown, so all their meals these days were eaten there—sometimes more, sometimes less, sometimes expensive, sometimes cheap.

Yun Xiaoyu was a boy with principles and had even set a little rule for himself: if he got a lot of good stuff from the treasure chest that day, he’d treat Dad to a more lavish meal; if he got less, they’d order something cheaper but filling. If he didn’t get anything good, he’d cook at home with Dad.

Now that he was the little man of the house, cooking was no problem for him.

Yun Qimu didn’t stand on ceremony and took all three flatbreads. They were convenient to eat on the go, unlike other dishes that needed bowls and plates. She planned to buy a few more from the restaurant later to take with her.

Especially since she’d be participating in that hunting competition soon—flatbreads were definitely the most convenient food.

With these thoughts in mind, she chatted and laughed with Yun Xiaoyu and Father Yun for a while, then took Yun Xiaoyu by the hand and led Father Yun outside.

When they reached the three-mu (half-acre) field, Yun Xiaoyu glanced at Yun Qimu and whispered, “If we water the plants with nutrient solution one more time this morning, they’ll be ready to harvest. Also, we’re almost out of plant nutrient solution. The pharmacy workshop is out of stock too. Mr. Mo was really anxious and asked about it yesterday.”

Yun Qimu’s smile froze. Only then did she realize that with all the intensive planting lately, plus Mo Xie—the plant enthusiast and notorious nutrient solution hoarder—their supply was almost gone.

That damned main system definitely wouldn’t provide her with more stock. The only solution was to make it herself.

But she wasn’t an alchemy master, nor did she have the formula for the plant nutrient solution. That left her feeling a bit helpless.

Luckily, she had her thoughtful little brother, Yun Xiaoyu.

“I got a formula for plant nutrient solution from a treasure chest yesterday. Qimu, do you need it?”

He tilted his little head up, stretching out his chubby hand to offer her a sheepskin scroll.

Yun Qimu’s eyes lit up and she nodded excitedly. “Yes, yes, I need it! You’re the best little brother ever!”

She scooped Yun Xiaoyu up and planted a big kiss on his soft, chubby, handsome little face.

Yun Xiaoyu’s black eyes widened in shock, his hands covering his face as he froze.

Qimu… Qimu actually kissed him.

Hmph! For a girl, she really had no sense of shame!

He grumbled inwardly, but looking at her radiant, beaming face, he pouted but didn’t say anything, just turned his blushing face away in embarrassment.

Just this once, since she’s so happy. But not again!

“What’s got you two so happy? Tell us, let us in on it!” Behind them, Pei Yu came over with the Ming brothers, Ming Mu and Ming Xiao, all looking relaxed and cheerful, greeting them with a smile.

Trailing behind was Wu Xingyu, dressed all in black but with an extraordinary air about him. Even early in the morning, he seemed in a good mood. The frost on his beautiful face had melted, replaced by a faint smile—he didn’t look so cold and expressionless anymore.

At that moment, his dark, bright eyes glanced over at her, and he even smiled, making Yun Qimu almost lose her composure.

What a stunning beauty—he really was good-looking when he smiled.

She muttered to herself, then smiled at Pei Yu. “Of course, I’m happy because something good happened.”

“What good thing?” Pei Yu pressed, determined to get to the bottom of it.

Yun Qimu glanced at Ming Mu behind him, her dark eyes flickering, but she didn’t hide it. “I got a formula for plant nutrient solution. From now on, the finished potions at the pharmacy workshop will get scarcer and scarcer. We’ll have to make them ourselves, so of course I’m happy to have this formula.”

Pei Yu looked as if he’d been struck by lightning. “What? Finished potions will get scarcer? What about the Light Potion, the Holy Potion?”

“Same thing. Once you buy a bottle, there’s one less.”

Pei Yu instantly deflated. The excitement from just having drunk half a bottle of Light Potion to purge some of the dark matter from his body vanished completely.

Ming Mu, on the other hand, looked eager. “Village Chief Yun, can I work at the pharmacy workshop? I haven’t studied alchemy, but I do know a lot about potions.”

To be honest, the pharmacy’s alchemy room was just too tempting. The equipment inside was every potion maker’s dream—his dream laboratory.

He’d been stunned the moment he saw it yesterday, almost unable to walk away.

Today, he’d planned to ask Village Chief Yun if he could become the master of that alchemy room. Even if not, just being allowed to use it would be great.

Seeing his earnest self-recommendation, Yun Qimu pretended to think it over. “But I don’t have much budget for the pharmacy workshop. Your salary…”

Ming Mu’s eyes lit up. “I—I don’t need a salary! As long as I can use that lab, that’s enough!”"
