Chapter 112: Chapter 112
I Farm and Plant Trees in the Global Game
That’s when the power of the Claw of Feedback really shone. After learning the coma potion in the trial world, she’d returned and used the Claw of Feedback to pull out a few portions of the required materials.
She’d already set up a potion-brewing room inside the plantation’s wooden house, stocking it with everything she needed according to the standards of the trial world, all sourced from the local general store.
With her materials in hand, she entered the brewing room. The spacious workbench was covered with bottles and jars.
She juiced the nightshade, chopped the datura flower bases, dried and ground the rosemary…
Mu Ying processed the potion ingredients methodically. In her view, potion-making was a lot like cooking—except you had to be extra careful, since even a small mistake could lead to completely different results.
Fortunately, she’d already brewed this potion many times in the trial world, taking advantage of the herb garden there, so she made no mistakes now that she was back in the real world.
For the final step, she used magic to catalyze the reaction between the herbs. The murky liquid in the cauldron began to boil. She silently counted to nine, withdrew her magic, added a spoonful of stabilizing pollen, and watched as the potion gradually settled into a milky white liquid.
Success!
Mu Ying poured the potion into crystal vials—two small bottles in total.
She teleported with the potion to the third sub-camp: the “Breeding Camp.”
The newly built breeding camp was half inside a rocky forest, half outside, near the stream where the petrified lizards drank.
The breeding camp had also been expanded to its maximum size and was divided into two areas, one large and one small.
The largest area was the enclosure for the petrified lizards, taking up about half of the camp on the rocky forest side.
The other half, outside the rocky forest, was the pasture, where Mu Ying had already planted fast-growing grass.
By now, the breeding area was home to a herd of wild cattle, several nests of wild rabbits, and wild goats.
Between the breeding area and the lizard enclosure stood a long row of wooden houses.
This was where slaughtering and meat processing took place.
The row of wooden houses was separated from the other two areas and camouflaged to look like a rocky mountain—just a particularly long one.
From the outside, it looked like an oddly shaped stone mountain.
The sub-camp’s protective barrier was also disguised as a stone mountain, making the whole place look like a small basin surrounded by rocks.
At first, none of the petrified lizards ventured into the camp.
During this time, Mu Ying would collect raw meat from the animals in the breeding area each day, chop it up, mix in a bit of flour, then add spiky ball grass, coating it evenly with minced meat, and finally stir-frying it until half-cooked.
This was the irresistible feed for the petrified lizards that Mu Ying had developed during this period.
After observing for a few days, she found that the petrified lizards were primarily carnivorous, hunting with their petrifying gaze, but they also loved eating spiky ball grass.
This grass, found everywhere in the rocky forest, was a basketball-sized, spiky ball-shaped plant.
Petrified lizards usually ate the spiky ball grass after hunting.
After filling their bellies, they’d eat the grass as a sort of after-meal snack, just because they liked it.
So Mu Ying combined meat and spiky ball grass to create these spiky meatballs.
The lightly cooked meat kept its savory aroma without the bloody smell of raw meat. The first time she tossed them into the lizard enclosure, the petrified lizards were immediately drawn over.
The camp’s barrier was no longer a white mist, but disguised as a common stone mountain. Though it was a bit wider and lower than usual, it didn’t arouse the lizards’ suspicion.
The unfamiliar aroma of food lured them to circle the camp, until they finally found the narrow entrance and squeezed inside.
A young petrified lizard couldn’t resist and ate a meatball.
A larger lizard swatted it aside with its tail, as if scolding a naughty child.
Luckily, after a while, the little one who’d snuck a taste was fine—in fact, it managed to gobble down another one while the others weren’t looking.
Seeing that it was harmless, the big lizards couldn’t resist any longer. After one bite, they were amazed.
Petrified lizard: What is this spiky, meaty thing? It’s delicious!
After a hearty meal, the lizards sprawled out in the sun.
A few hours later, it was time to hunt again. Just as they were about to leave, they saw more familiar meatballs rolling out of the stone mountain.
In reality, Mu Ying was tossing them from the other side of the barrier.
This time, the lizards hesitated less. After another feast, they lost the urge to hunt, but still left the stone basin to return to their usual resting places for the night.
The next day, they squeezed in again and feasted twice.
On the third, fourth, and fifth days, the lizards had gotten used to coming to the basin for food. But on the fifth day, there were no meatballs.
Disappointed, they left.
On the sixth day, still no meatballs.
On the seventh day, still nothing.
The young lizard, unable to resist its cravings, kept coming back to wait.
Finally, on the eighth day, it caught a whiff of that familiar aroma.
The whole group returned, and this time, they cherished the place even more, treating the meatball-producing basin as their new home, lingering there longer and longer each day.
That day, as usual, the meatballs appeared on schedule.
The petrified lizards had completely dropped their guard and began eating right away.
After eating, one by one, they lost consciousness and collapsed.
A figure emerged from the “stone mountain,” blood-red light flickering in her eyes, carrying a large wooden bucket.
She cut a finger-sized slit in the lizards’ arteries, letting the blood gush into the bucket.
After a while, she pressed her hand to the wound, stopping the bleeding and healing the cut completely.
One after another, none of the lizards escaped.
She collected two full buckets of blood.
The buckets vanished into her hands, and she slipped back into the stone mountain, disappearing from sight.
A few hours later, the petrified lizards woke up, feeling like they’d slept especially long. Their bodies were sluggish, so they rolled over and went back to sleep. The faint scent of blood in the air didn’t bother them at all."
"“559, guess what I’ve brought you?”
