Chapter 94: Chapter 94

I Farm and Plant Trees in the Global Game

She had the wolves retreat to a safe distance, reverted to human form, cast Barkskin, and climbed a tree near the cave.

A massive blazing fireball appeared right at the goblin camp’s entrance, igniting the watchtowers and barreling straight into the cave, smashing through everything in its path and causing utter chaos inside.

“Gili-gulu-lakaba!”

The goblins’ shrill voices rang out as they scattered like ants whose nest had been kicked, descending into total chaos.

Muying took the opportunity to count their numbers—about a dozen or twenty, more than she’d seen by the river before.

Among them was a familiar face: the goblin leader, wearing a breastplate inlaid with gemstone shards and a golden whistle hanging from his neck.

So it really was the same group of goblins she’d encountered before.

The fireball left the goblin camp in shambles, burning down the watchtowers, but didn’t cause much actual harm.

After finishing off the two goblin archers who’d fallen from the towers with arrows, Muying revealed her position, but no longer had to worry about threats from above.

She cast Fog Cloud for cover, Entangle to bind her enemies, and followed up with the area damage of Moonlight.

Jumping down from the tree, she stowed her bow and drew her longsword and dagger, signaling the wolves to join in for a coordinated attack. But to her surprise, the goblins were all clutching their heads and trembling in fear. Only the goblin leader remained somewhat lucid, struggling free from the vines and bolting away.

“Gili-gulu-lalala-ru!” O mighty Lord of the Mist! Spare your poor, weak servant!

“When did my spells start having a fear effect?” Muying wondered.

She couldn’t understand the goblin’s words, but their trembling voices made their terror obvious.

Though puzzled, Muying didn’t slow her attack. Whatever they were up to, it was best to finish them off first.

With the wolves joining in, Muying’s hunt sped up even more.

A few minutes later, the fog cleared, leaving only goblin corpses scattered on the ground.

Unfortunately, the goblin leader had escaped.

Though his gear looked valuable, Muying didn’t bother chasing him.

Maybe, deep down, she hoped he’d gather a new band of goblins before long.

This time, the goblins had been caught off guard and lost their lair, leaving all their belongings behind.

Aside from the small amount of coins and random gear the goblins carried, Muying found a small chest deep in the cave.

Opening it, she was greeted by the gleam of gold.

A quick count: 9 gold coins, 72 silver coins, and 98 copper coins.

Muying happily accepted the goblins’ “donation.”

By the afternoon of the next day, they finally reached the outskirts of the territory. Her storage pouch now held many plant seeds and fresh meat.

“Shh! Wolves!” The mountaineering club team, carrying their game back to the territory, spotted the wolf pack and froze.

They’d just survived a tough fight and were in no shape to face a wolf pack.

“Did the smell of our meat attract them? Maybe we should ditch some of it and hope to save our skins.”

“Don’t worry, we’re close to the territory now. There are a lot of wolf pups in that pack—they probably can’t run that fast. If they really come for us, we’ll just sprint for the gate!”

“Phew! Looks like they’re not after us.”

The wolves didn’t approach, just ran straight past.

“That white wolf in the lead is gorgeous. Its pelt would fetch a good price!”

“Maybe it’s just my imagination, but I swear that white wolf looked right at me,” Liu Luoluo said, watching the wolves disappear into the distance. “Aren’t they heading toward the territory?”

“Haha, Luoluo, what are you thinking? If a wolf pack ran into the territory, wouldn’t they be skinned alive?” Cheng Wei teased.

“Alright, let’s hurry back too, before anything else happens,” Si Qing said.

Muying led the wolf pack straight into the camp.

“Wolves are coming!”

“Don’t be childish.”

“I’m not joking, there really are wolves coming! They’re inside the territory now! There’s one with snow-white fur and eyes like emeralds—so beautiful! Look, over there!”

“That’s one handsome wolf. I’m going to ask the pawnshop boss how much its pelt is worth—cough, cough!”

The speaker abruptly cut himself off, swallowing his words and trying to hide behind his companions.

No way would he dare lay a hand on that wolf now.

Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, that wolf would turn into the terrifying woman everyone feared? Not someone to mess with!

Muying had deliberately transformed back into human form in front of everyone, just to let the territory know that this wolf pack was under her protection."

"When Liu Luoluo and the others returned to their territory, they hadn’t even reached their own treehouse before they saw a group of wolf pups playing under Mu Ying’s treehouse.

“……”

“Why are they here?” Cheng Wei asked in a daze.

Liu Luoluo clapped her hands. “I told you, that lead white wolf was watching me before! These wolves must belong to Boss Mu. Boss Mu must’ve told them about me. But where did that white wolf go?”

Old Mao and his gang pretended to just be passing by, but were actually observing the wolves Mu Ying had brought back, trying not to look too interested.

“Boss, how come Mu Ying can turn into a wolf? How does she do it?” one of his lackeys whispered.

“Why do you care so much? In times like these, who doesn’t have a few strange abilities?” Old Mao replied gruffly. He was curious too, but couldn’t show it in front of his underlings.

“That white wolf is really good-looking. Too bad it’s actually a person.”

A member of the mountaineering team, who happened to overhear them: “……”

“Heh, so that white wolf was Boss Mu all along,” Liu Luoluo said with an awkward laugh, then ran over to Mu Ying. “I’ll go see what I can find out.”

“Boss, it’s been days since I’ve seen you. Did you go out somewhere?” Liu Luoluo asked, carefully avoiding the few adult wolves that looked a bit dangerous.

“Yeah, after leveling up, I went out for a few days to practice some skills.” There was nothing to hide—after all, Wild Shape was a druid class skill, and everyone would find out sooner or later. “Oh, and when you reach level 4, you get 1 free attribute point.”

Mu Ying remembered how worried Liu Luoluo had been the last time she leveled up. Her starting perception attribute wasn’t high, and without extra attribute points, the priest class would cap at level 3 for her.

“Really?” Liu Luoluo perked up, but soon looked disappointed again. “My perception attribute only lets me reach level 3. I can’t even learn 2nd-level spells, so there’s no way I’ll get to level 4.”
