Chapter 142: Getting the Goods, Perfect
I Farm In The Apocalypse
The car headlights and the sound of brakes attracted attention as people turned their heads to look. Jing Shu, wrapped tightly in her jumpsuit, stepped out of her red BYD Song.
"Wow, someone still has the ability to drive an energy car, impressive."
"What's so special about that? Didn't you see that Su Mali's chauffeur just dropped her off?"
"The BYD Song was worth just a few thousand yuan last year. Only people without money would buy that. Jing Shu is really lucky."
Jing Shu had expected everyone to be inside, but to her surprise, they were all standing at the door, creating this scene.
If Jing Shu had the option, she'd probably feel quite awkward right now. She had told Su Mali to move the submarine later, but Su Mali had brought it directly, making a spectacle of it.
Su Mali's eyes sparkled as she saw Jing Shu. With her arms crossed, she ran over, her princess dress bouncing up and down.
Now, some may wonder, why run with your arms crossed? It’s said that people with large chests have this problem—they must hold them in place when running due to excessive bouncing.
Jing Shu glanced down at herself and sighed, feeling a bit envious that she never had such problems.
Before Jing Shu could react, she felt a pair of warm, soft hands take hers. Su Mali cheerfully said, "Jing Shu, you’re finally here!"
"Ah? Um… yeah, I'm here," Jing Shu responded instinctively, but then realized something was off. She had spoken less than a hundred words to Su Mali throughout high school, so why was Su Mali acting so familiar?
Oh, right. She’s familiar with everyone.
Su Mali looked at Jing Shu with anticipation. "Did you bring the stuff?"
Jing Shu nodded.
"Great! Come on, Jing Shu, I brought your shark yacht too. If it's inconvenient for you, I can have it delivered to your home."
Without waiting for a response, Su Mali dragged Jing Shu over to the shark yacht, handing her the keys. "From now on, it's yours. It’s got 280 horsepower, and I filled it with diesel."
See, she trades things without even checking the goods, trusting people like this. How does someone like her survive in the apocalypse?
Their old classmates were filled with envy, jealousy, and resentment. Another big item given away by the generous Su Mali. Jing Shu noticed familiar faces in the crowd: Mu Xiaoxuan, Zhang Ling Ling, He Shouwu, Wang Chao, Xie Zihao, Nima…
"Thanks."
Jing Shu took the keys and carefully examined the blue shark submarine. It was 5 meters long, about 1 meter wide, with a 2-meter wingspan. To store it, she would need at least 10 cubic meters of space.
The shark submarine had a seat in the front and back, and the wheels under its belly could retract. It had a top speed of around 50 km/h. It was designed more for water, with land as a secondary function.
Jing Shu ran her hand over it—it felt solid. The fully enclosed submarine could effectively keep out red threadworms and other bugs. Jing Shu had originally planned to get a boat the following year since there would be water everywhere, and wherever there’s water, there are red threadworms...
But she never expected to receive such a big gift so suddenly. A submarine that could also function as a boat was rare, and most importantly, this blue shark was just too cool. She loved it!
Jing Shu already knew where she would store it. The conqueror RV had a lift at the back meant for off-road motorcycles. She could use it to store the shark yacht instead—perfect! Now, all she needed was the RV.
Zhang Ling Ling led the applause, "Congratulations to Jing Shu for snagging the first big deal of the trade meet! You’ve gotten prettier over the years, even more than our class beauty, Nima."
Nima stood among the crowd, her red hat covering her greasy hair, wearing a long black down jacket and high heels that highlighted her long legs. She had light makeup on, looking mature...
But in the dim light, she didn’t quite live up to her appearance.
When a few flashlights shone on her, Nima’s true state was revealed—her dark, dirty hands and the filth under her nails made it clear.
She looked like she had been mining coal, though most people were in the same state, with only a few managing to stay clean.
Nima gritted her teeth and stuffed her dirty hands into her pockets. She couldn't understand how these people stayed clean in such a water-scarce situation.
In contrast, Jing Shu was dressed casually in a fluffy red jumpsuit that looked like pajamas, paired with warm boots. She looked much more relaxed, with a playful charm beneath her bright exterior.
As a few flashlights shone on her, Jing Shu frowned and pulled out a high-powered flashlight of her own, blinding several people with its brightness until they quickly turned off their own lights.
"Jing Shu, I'm curious, what did you trade for the submarine? Was it antidote medicine? Where did you even get that?"
"Yeah, I'm curious too."
" Su Mali, do you still want anything else? Can I have that bag of yours?"
Voices chattered all around.
"Come on, get in the car, and I’ll give you the goods," Jing Shu said, heading back to her car.
Su Mali eagerly followed her and got into the car. Jing Shu pulled out a wooden box and opened it, revealing honeysuckle. "This is the best remedy for carbuncles. Take it home and try it. If it’s not enough, I have more."
"Thank you so much!" Su Mali gratefully accepted it.
"So you traded a can of compressed natural gas for just one anesthetic?" Jing Shu asked.
Su Mali nodded. "We’re running low on anesthetics, so I’ll take however much you have."
Jing Shu had exchanged four pig legs with Alan for seven anesthetics, originally intended for Wu Youai but never used. She kept three as a backup and traded four large cans of CNG, complete with full equipment.
Jing Shu planned to study how to cultivate anesthetics once her herbs matured. Currently, the space in her cube world was completely full.
She had 6 cubic meters for fruit, 6 for vegetables, and 6 for herbs. She didn’t plan to change this ratio, but when the cube world upgraded again, she intended to plant some other varieties.
" Su Mali, are you leaving already?"
"Aren’t you going to take your stuff? Didn’t you come to trade?"
After getting out of the car, Su Mali impatiently called her driver. The others looked on with envy as Su Mali left early in the event, leaving behind piles of items.
Su Mali smiled sweetly, "I’ve already gotten what I wanted. I only trade things for items that interest me. If you have something I like, let me know, but I’m leaving for today."
See, even though Su Mali is often generous, she still has her principles.
Su Mali left with a heap of things, making the rest of the trade meeting seem dull in comparison.

Suddenly, I had the idea of a fixed bonus chapter: each month, I will release an extra chapter for the top fan. I forgot who was first the previous month, so speak up! Last month, it was zw7774. I owe three bonus chapters, which will be released after the novel goes live.
