Chapter 264: The True Power of the Magic Cube Space
I Farm In The Apocalypse
Su Mali struggled fiercely, her delicate hands quickly developing purple-red marks from the tight restraints.
“No! Don’t come any closer!” Su Mali shouted.
Jing Shu’s Magic Cube Space, after six months of hard work and two months stuck at a bottleneck, had finally reached the 7th tier! But Jing Shu didn’t have the luxury to explore the new features, land, or expanded space. She struggled against the heavy chains binding them, aware that her life was in danger—and worse, that someone intended to take advantage of her.
As Jing Shu discreetly glanced toward the surveillance cameras, contemplating how to eliminate Fatty without being detected, something unexpected happened.
Fatty suddenly stopped in his tracks!
Of course, it wasn’t because of a sudden pang of conscience. No, he had stepped on the flesh-eating bugs that had been devouring Da Mao’s corpse! These bugs began swarming over him like ants, biting viciously into his flesh.
Sometimes, Jing Shu truly marveled at Su Mali’s incredible luck. Even in the most dire situations, something unexpected always seemed to happen. It was as though Lady Luck smiled upon her. Then again, this was bound to happen. Da Mao’s death had attracted the bugs, and anyone who stepped into that area was bound to be bitten.
Fate, it seemed, worked in mysterious ways.
Fatty slapped at his legs, crying out in pain, “Help! Dogzai, Big Donkey, Skinny Meat—get over here and help me!”
Four lackeys rushed in from outside and started frantically slapping at the bugs on Fatty’s body. But in this post-apocalyptic world, these weren’t just any bugs. After evolving through harsh environments, these creatures were incredibly dangerous. They attacked anything dead or alive.
Soon, the five men were in complete chaos, stomping and slapping at the bugs as blood oozed from the bites.
Just when they thought they’d handled the bugs, a few snakes slithered out from the corners, flicking their tongues and coiling their slender bodies. A new battle began—this time, between the men and the snakes.
Su Mali screamed, torn between wanting the snakes to kill the men and hoping they wouldn’t bite her. In the end, things turned out just as she hoped.
Snakes: "Dear V8 customer, your wish has been received."
Eventually, the snakes were either shot, beaten, or killed with shovels, each meeting a different fate. However, before the men could treat their wounds, they began collapsing one by one, overcome by the deadly venom of the five-step snakes.
These five-step snakes were among the most venomous in the world. And, after being raised in Jing Shu’s Magic Cube Space and fed with spiritual spring water, their venom had only grown more potent.
“Good job!”
“Well done!”
Su Mali cheered, shouting, “Kill them! Wait—where’s the key? The key to unlock us?”
Key: "Dear V8 customer, your wish has been received."
Jing Shu lowered her head and closed her eyes, focusing on using her newly unlocked 7th-tier Magic Cube Space ability for the first time.
Yes, after reaching the 7th tier, her Magic Cube Space had gained its true ability.
Jing Shu finally understood why, before the upgrade, her consciousness had been muddled, her mind foggy, making it hard to distinguish reality from a dream. The new ability of the 7th-tier Magic Cube Space was a powerful one: it could induce severe sensory confusion—hallucinations—in any living creature within its domain.
In simple terms, Jing Shu could now control the minds and actions of living beings through mental suggestion and manipulation.
Jing Shu also realized that the strict 4 a.m. practice routine she had adhered to for so long was influenced by the emerging abilities of her Magic Cube Space.
It was all starting to make sense. The previous abilities of the Magic Cube Space must have been locked, only now unlocking and evolving into this potent new power, just when Jing Shu needed it most.
Before, Jing Shu had to spend months living alongside bees, feeding them spiritual water to build a relationship and gain control over them. The same was true for her relationship with the The Fat Chickens—requiring much time and effort to establish a master-servant bond. But that was when her powers were still limited.
For two months, Jing Shu had been trying to tame the five-step snakes but had failed. Now, with the 7th-tier upgrade, she no longer needed to worry about such limitations.
Now, the Magic Cube Space allowed her to plant suggestions and manipulate the behaviors of creatures directly. In this case, the suggestion was simple: *Jing Shu is your master. Follow her commands.*
As soon as the upgrade completed, Jing Shu established a connection with the snakes. They received her orders and executed them, engaging in the battle while ensuring their own demise. Otherwise, it would have been suspicious if the snakes had spared her and Su Mali.
Before, she could only suggest actions to animals. Now, she could exert full control.
Moreover, Jing Shu could now receive feedback from the creatures she controlled, including their vision and location—making them perfect scouts, far more efficient than surveillance cameras.
This new "hallucination ability," which manipulated the perception of creatures within the Magic Cube Space, seemed modest on the surface. But it was a tremendously powerful tool—giving Jing Shu a sense of ultimate control over everything within her domain.
As for the real world outside the Magic Cube Space, Jing Shu couldn’t exert the same level of control. But she could still create minor hallucinations or mental suggestions in people—just enough to make them pause or act on a fleeting impulse.
So now, by activating the Magic Cube’s hallucination ability, Jing Shu caused Fatty to believe that the key to survival lay with Su Mali. In his delirious state, he stumbled toward her, dropping the key onto her lap before collapsing and dying.
Just like that, Su Mali easily obtained the key.
The power to induce fleeting hallucinations or mental suggestions, though subtle, was immensely valuable. In critical moments, such an ability could save lives and influence pivotal decisions.

Meanwhile, in the monitoring room, the events played out on the screen.
"Just as I thought," Lin Yi tapped his fingers rhythmically on the table. After spending months observing Su Mali, he had come to understand the strange, almost supernatural luck that surrounded her. Even when placed in a life-or-death scenario, she would always escape unscathed. He had even orchestrated an elevator incident to test her, but she had once again avoided certain death.
