Chapter 215: My Name is Liu Jiafeng
Natural Disasters and the End of the World, She Went Crazy After Stocking Up on Supplies
A satisfied smile curled at the corner of An Nan’s lips.
“Be clear. Don’t test our patience.”
Chu Xiaoguai was trembling all over.
That punch from the man just now had snapped her back to reality.
The two people in front of her were cold-blooded demons who wouldn’t bat an eye at murder.
Her lips quivered as she confessed, word by word, honestly and thoroughly.
“My real name is Liu Jiafeng…”
Ten minutes later, An Nan looked at Gu Zhiyu, a bit helpless. “You win.”
Gu Zhiyu smirked. “I rarely make bets, but when I do, I always win.”
An Nan rolled her eyes at him. “Humility helps you improve. Pride leads to downfall.”
The little girl, realizing they’d actually made a bet about her, finally understood—she’d been under suspicion all along. Their kindness yesterday had just been an act to test her.
Liu Jiafeng, who’d always prided herself on being clever, was now so frightened she dropped to her knees.
“That’s all, I swear! I never hurt Chu Peipei, or either of you. Please, I’m begging you, let me go!”
An Nan looked at her with contempt. “You never hurt anyone, or you just didn’t get the chance yet?”
Liu Jiafeng shook her head desperately. “Chu Peipei has plenty of food and even takes care of me. Why would I want to hurt her?”
An Nan stared straight into her eyes. “And what if the food runs out?”
Liu Jiafeng froze, then replied, her confidence faltering, “Then… we’d figure something out together…”
An Nan let out a cold laugh. “Let’s not even talk about what you planned for Chu Peipei. Just the way you looked at me yesterday made me really uncomfortable…”
Liu Jiafeng stammered, “What look? I was just jealous that you’re pretty and have someone who cares about you.”
An Nan: “You sure know how to flatter.”
Gu Zhiyu chimed in, “But the second half is true.”
An Nan raised an eyebrow at him.
He repeated with a grin, “Pretty and loved.”
An Nan shot him a look. “Can you not flirt when there are outsiders around?”
Just then, there was a knock at the door. “Nannan, are you there?”
It was Chu Peipei.
Liu Jiafeng immediately seized the opportunity and shouted, “Mom! Mom, help me!”
An Nan glanced at her, unhurriedly walked over, and opened the door.
As soon as Chu Peipei entered, the little girl burst into heart-wrenching sobs. “Mom, Mom, help me!”
She tried to run to the door, but Gu Zhiyu’s cold stare froze her in place—her legs wouldn’t move.
Chu Peipei, however, looked An Nan up and down, worried. “Nannan, are you okay?”
An Nan shook her head. “I’m fine.”
Chu Peipei said, “When I woke up and saw Xiaoguai was gone, I guessed she’d come here.”
She frowned. “What did she do?”
An Nan handed her some slippers. “Come in first.”
Chu Peipei entered. The little girl was bawling, snot and tears everywhere. “Mom, please save Xiaoguai! Xiaoguai is so scared!”
But Chu Peipei just frowned. “Who told you to come here without my permission and bother other people?”
Liu Jiafeng was stunned.
Why wasn’t she comforting her? Why was she questioning her instead?
She tried to defend herself pitifully. “Mom, I was so hungry. When I saw you weren’t awake, I came to find Auntie Nannan and Uncle Gu.”
An Nan raised an eyebrow. Now she was calling him Uncle Gu all obediently.
The little girl went on, “But not only did they not give me any food, they wouldn’t let me go home…”
An Nan cut her off. “Liu Jiafeng, do you really think just because Peipei is here, I won’t hit you?”
Chu Peipei turned to An Nan. “Liu Jiafeng?”
An Nan nodded. “She’s not some Xiaoguai. She’s actually a thirty-year-old woman named Liu Jiafeng.”
Chu Peipei was truly shocked. “Thirty?!”
She turned to look at “Chu Xiaoguai.”
After what happened yesterday, she’d just thought this was a precocious, scheming little girl.
But an adult??
She couldn’t believe it. “How is that possible…”
An Nan explained, “She’s a person with dwarfism. She looks small, like a child, but she’s actually much older.”
Chu Peipei stared blankly at the crying little girl. “But even if someone has dwarfism, you can still tell an adult’s face, right?”
She’d never met someone with dwarfism in real life, but she’d seen them in short videos and news reports.
An Nan shrugged. “True. Maybe it’s because she’s pretty—her face looks especially young.”
At first, she hadn’t suspected dwarfism either. She’d wondered if the girl, like herself, had been reborn.
She herself had been reborn four years before her death. When she came back, her body was 22, but her real age was 26.
So she’d guessed maybe this little girl had also been reborn into her childhood body—physically nine, but actually an adult?
Since An Nan herself was reborn, that was her first thought.
But Gu Zhiyu didn’t believe in such mystical stuff. He was sure this was just a little person pretending to be a child.
They’d even made a bet about it.
Turns out, Gu Zhiyu was right.
An Nan thought to herself, I guess being reborn isn’t that common after all. Only she and Bai Wenbin had gotten a second chance thanks to their space bracelets.
Other people just didn’t have that kind of luck.
Meanwhile, Chu Peipei studied Liu Jiafeng carefully. “It’s true…”
Her face was young and pretty, but not childlike. Chu Peipei had always thought she just looked thin, which was why she didn’t have the plump cheeks of a child.
But now, with the answer “she’s an adult” in mind, it was easy to spot the oddities.
Seeing Chu Peipei’s gaze, Liu Jiafeng quickly threw herself into her arms and protested,
“Mom! What are you talking about? What’s a little person? Xiaoguai doesn’t understand.”
Chu Peipei hadn’t heard her confession earlier. As long as she stuck to her story, there was a good chance Chu Peipei would believe her—after all, she’d always been so good to her.
As long as she could get out of here quickly, she’d be safe for now.
So she sobbed, “Auntie Nannan must be mad that I came over so early and disturbed them. That’s why she’s saying all this, to teach Xiaoguai a lesson.”
Seeing that Chu Peipei clearly didn’t believe her, she turned to An Nan, crying,
“Sob sob, Auntie, I won’t bother you again, please don’t be mad, okay?”
An Nan was thoroughly disgusted. “Lady, can you stop calling me ‘Auntie’? You’re making me feel old!”
Seeing she still wanted to argue, An Nan couldn’t be bothered to play along anymore.
“Gu Zhiyu, where’s my phone?”
Gu Zhiyu smiled. “I think it’s on the shelf next to the TV cabinet.”
An Nan: “Oh! There it is.”
She strolled over and picked up her phone, unhurried.
A bad feeling welled up in Liu Jiafeng’s heart."
