Chapter 147: The Grand Magic Market – Trading Market 4

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

“Liushi, you probably need this too, right?”

Sang Chu handed over a hyacinth flower, and everyone in Liushi’s group was stunned.

“Liushi, you’d better put it away quickly, just in case someone notices.”

Liushi didn’t hesitate, directly storing it in his own spatial ring. He then looked at Sang Chu with a smile. “Don’t worry, Your Highness. I’ll handle everything properly.”

“Thank you.”

Sang Chu fiddled with the card in his hand for a moment, then picked up another flower. Xi Rui had already returned, and as she left, she glanced back at the shop one last time before walking away without the slightest hesitation.

Liushi led the way through the stone corridor. The people along the way barely spared them a glance, only nodding politely at Sang Chu, not mentioning anything about the earlier magic.

“Your Highness, everything’s been taken care of. Where would you like to go next?”

“I want to take a look at the special goods. I need one, but I’m not sure if there’s any for sale.”

“There is one, but the price might be a bit steep.”

Sang Chu: “You know who has it?”

“I do.”

Sang Chu: “Good. As for the hyacinth, I have it on hand. If he wants something from me, we can use the hyacinth as payment.”

Liushi hesitated for a moment, then rubbed his own rabbit ears before leaning in to whisper to Sang Chu, “The seller is actually my older brother. If you want it, Your Highness, I can talk to him and arrange a private deal. But, on the surface…”

“Don’t worry, I know this isn’t something we can make public. Just tell him that however many slaves he has, I’d like to take a look. If I’m satisfied, I’ll pay with hyacinths.”

“Alright, I’ll let him know right away.”

He contacted his brother right in front of Sang Chu, so Sang Chu could hear the whole conversation. After they finished discussing, Liushi handed over a mask.

“You’ll need to wear a mask to enter the special goods area, to avoid drawing attention.”

Sang Chu noticed some nervousness in Liushi’s expression, but didn’t say anything. Taking advantage of the empty surroundings, he put on the mask.

He followed Liushi up a flight of stone steps.

As soon as they entered, Mu Xue felt physically uncomfortable. She clung to Sang Chu’s arm, her face turning pale as she looked at the people displayed like merchandise.

“It’s okay, don’t be afraid.”

Lu Minli, seeing her panic, quietly said, “If you don’t want to see, just hold onto me.”

He knew Sang Chu needed to buy these things, and worried that Mu Xue would be upset by what she saw, so he gently pulled her away from Sang Chu’s side.

Sang Chu gave him a grateful look.

“Liushi, is there a place to rest here? My brother is tired. He can rest for a bit while you take me to see the goods.”

Sang Jingwen: “Sang Sang, I’ll go with you.”

Mu Xue: “Sang Sang, I—I can manage too.”

Buying slaves was normal in the Grand Magic Market. Since they all had to get used to it, Mu Xue braced herself and followed along.

Sang Chu: “Alright, but don’t force yourself.”

“Mhm.”

Mu Xue nodded slightly. Suddenly, she felt a warm sensation in her hand. Looking down, she realized Lu Minli was holding her hand. She immediately smiled at him. “Thank you.”

“If you feel unwell, let me know.”

“I’m fine.”

Sang Chu glanced back at Liushi. “Lead the way.”

They followed him through the crowd and arrived at the third area. Here, the people had no notable background or status, but all possessed rare magical talents—these were the slave pens.

There were mages, gold-rank, necromancers, healers, and more. All of them were displayed openly, and they all shared one characteristic: they were all extremely attractive.

Both men and women were exceptionally beautiful—anyone who saw them would be tempted.

When Liushi led the group in, the other sellers eyed him warily, but tried to restrain themselves, their expressions oddly conflicted.

Sang Chu didn’t say much, just glanced at the cages on the ground. Most of the cages only reached his waist, and everyone inside was curled up, squatting with their bodies completely exposed, stripped of all dignity.

Liushi said, “Your Highness, please take a look here.”

There were no shops in the special trading area; all the goods were displayed out in the open. The one Liushi brought Sang Chu to was covered with a white cloth. When he lifted it, inside was a young man, about twenty years old, with delicate features, elegant brows, and slightly long black hair cascading down his back. He was thin and looked like he’d been starved for a long time.

His body was covered in whip marks. Liushi, seeing Sang Chu’s gaze linger on the scars, hurriedly explained, “Your Highness, if you don’t like these marks, we can heal him so that not a trace remains.”

“Hmm. I’ll take him.”

Liushi smiled slyly. “Your Highness, would you like to form the contract yourself, or shall I handle it?”

Contract?

Sang Chu looked at Tu You in confusion: [Rabbit, you can contract with people too?]

[Of course! In the magic world, as long as you have money and power, you can have any kind of slave you want. Here, human lives are cheap.]

Sang Chu nodded slightly. “You handle it.”

Sang Chu didn’t hand over a card; Liushi simply took out a contract scroll and began the ritual.

This slave’s magical level was quite high, so when they drew his blood, four guards had to hold him down.

After successfully drawing the blood, Liushi handed a ring to Sang Chu. “The crystal is inside. Take a look—if there’s no problem, I’ll finalize the contract.”

Sang Chu put all the items in his hand into the ring. After checking the contents, he gasped and quickly put it away. “No problem, no problem. Your Highness is truly generous. Take a look—if you need anything else, I’ll gift you any slave you want!”

Since he offered, Sang Chu didn’t stand on ceremony. “Then I’ll take the gold-rank mage and the healer. They both look pretty good.”

They were all Liushi’s brother’s slaves, and he seemed quite happy to give them away.

Liushi’s brother gave Sang Chu a big wave. “They’re yours, Your Highness. I’ll draw blood from Xiao Bai for the contract!”

With just one flower, Sang Chu got three magic slaves for free. He was quite pleased—not a single crystal spent.

“Thank you, old friend.”

“Your Highness, you’re too polite. Since you’ve taken a fancy to his innate skill, why not go to the trading market and pick out some materials for him? The original stone is absolutely essential.”

“Alright, let’s go.”

With that, his men brought over the rest of the cards. Sang Chu selected a few and formed contracts with them."
