Chapter 152: Magic University – Finding a Place to Stay

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

Yi Ping rested for a while, basically taking care of everyone here.

Looking at the person lying on the ground, tortured until only a skeleton remained, Yi Ping couldn’t help but gasp.

Xi Rui tossed a magic ring to him, along with the magical robes from these people. “Take these, they might be useful. As for those who want to beg for mercy, let them plead to the master themselves. As for a place to stay, if you don’t mind, there’s a cave below that can be used as shelter.”

Yi Ping was about to reply, but Lu Minli interrupted, “That place won’t do. He’s dead, and this can’t be hidden. If you make the scene even bloodier, I’m afraid the next group sent to monitor me will realize something’s wrong before they even receive word of his death. Yi Ge, Qiao Sangchu, give me my robe. Let’s go.”

Xi Rui frowned slightly. “That’s my clan’s hiding place. Others won’t be able to find it!”

Lu Minli said, “Precisely because it’s your place, we can’t stay. With Old Ge’s involvement, we can’t leave any traces. Yi Ge, let’s go.”

Yi Ping nodded, hurriedly igniting a flame to burn the remains. After the body was reduced to ashes, a crystal-clear bead was left behind.

Yi Ping controlled the fire to burn it further, and the bead grew brighter and brighter. Xi Rui quickly shouted, “Stop! That’s a water crystal bone, don’t burn it!”

Yi Ping paused, looking at Lu Minli. Only when he nodded did Yi Ping extinguish the flames. Xi Rui hurried over, wanting to pick it up but hesitated.

Lu Minli simply picked it up himself. Suddenly, his expression changed and he said urgently, “Let’s go!”

As he spoke, he pulled out the card Qiao Sangchu had given him, recited a spell to Xi Rui, and as the card glowed, Xi Rui was instantly absorbed into the magic card.

Yi Ping and Lu Minli grabbed their magic robes and hurried away.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, a small figure was slowly approaching the elf’s cave.

“Hey, why hasn’t Old Ge replied? Did something really happen?”

“Old Ge said the mountain spirit took the people from Rose City. He went after them, maybe he can’t reply on the way. I’m going to meet up with him. If something happens to that person, it won’t be a small matter.”

“Didn’t the Witch Academy say that as long as that woman named Qiao Sangchu is fine, it’s all good?”

“These people are all her companions. If something happens to them, do you think she’ll just leave quietly? No way, I need to hurry up!”

When he arrived, all he saw was a skeleton left after being eaten by the spirit.

And since the magic ring had changed the person’s appearance, even using magic water to restore the body could only bring back the appearance after death, not before. So Lu Minli wasn’t worried about being discovered.

Because the ring was only removed after the person died, the only appearances left now were “Lu Minli” and “Yi Ping.”

……

Yi Ping leaned wearily against a big tree, while Lu Minli used his magic to sense their surroundings. Only after confirming they had shaken off their pursuers did he finally breathe a sigh of relief.

He took out a map and glanced at it.

“We’re here now, pretty far from the elf’s nest. This mole rat burrow nearby looks pretty good, I’ll go check it out.”

Yi Ping was a bit confused about why they couldn’t stay at the elf’s nest. “Minli, why can’t I stay at the elf’s nest? Didn’t you say it was safe?”

“The condition for it being safe was that it wasn’t needed by anyone else. Think about it, why did the elf want to take Old Ge there for execution?”

“Why?”

Lu Minli said, “Maybe that’s where Old Ge caught her. She didn’t kill him right away, so that place must have special meaning for her. Did you see all the mounds on the ground?”

Yi Ping suddenly understood, “You mean, her family was killed by Old Ge there, so she insisted on executing him at that spot!”

“Exactly. Since Old Ge caught the elf there, that nest must be known to others—at least, some high-level people know about it. So I say it’s not safe. Plus, he’ll need shelter from the cold at night. The elf’s nest would be his first choice.”

Yi Ping: “But didn’t he say he’d only go back at night?”

Lu Minli: “He said he’d go back at night because he’s human, and it’s not safe outside at night. But what if I’m not there?”

“Alright, so I’ll go check out the mole rat burrow now?”

“Yeah, it’s not far from here. Let’s go.”

They mounted their contracted beast and headed toward the mole rat burrow.

Suddenly, Lu Minli stopped. Yi Ping quickly asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, just feel a bit silly…”

He released his contracted beast, sat on it first, and Yi Ping’s eyes lit up as he jumped on too. “This is great! This thing can carry people, right?”

Lu Minli directed the beast toward the burrow and finally relaxed. “Honestly, I wasn’t planning to buy this. After all, Ah Chu worked hard for it, and I’m not a huge fan of magical beasts. But when I saw this one, I thought it could be used as a mount. When we can’t use magic, it’s pretty handy.”

Yi Ping gave him a thumbs up. “Minli, you’re awesome! This beast can carry at least ten people. My five brothers would be jealous!”

Lu Minli laughed, “That’s why I bought it. These are the spirit stones and crystal cores Ah Chu gave me. If I use them for cultivation, I might even break through!”

“What about the elf? Aren’t you going to let her out?”

“The card’s in my hand. She can’t disobey my orders, but she’s a bit unpredictable. I’ll check out the burrow first. If you and I can handle it, we won’t need her. If not, I’ll let her out.”

“Alright, anyway, I think that elf is a bit scary—maybe a little unhinged from all the torture. I’m probably the last person she’d want to see, so being careful is good.”

Hearing this, Lu Minli couldn’t help but laugh. “Wow, Yi Ping, you’re actually being cautious for once.”

“Well, it’s not for me—it’s for Qiao Sangchu. If it were just me, I’d just go for it, fight if I have to. But this concerns little Chu, and she’s been so kind, helping me with my cultivation and giving me so many good things. I can’t let her down because of my recklessness.”

“Yeah, Qiao Sangchu’s move was pretty risky.”

Lu Minli couldn’t help but agree. But before long, his expression changed. In an instant, he grabbed Yi Ping, and the two of them disappeared from the beast’s back."
