Chapter 155: The Magic Academy – The Restricted Sang Chu

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

“After losing contact with him, I sent someone else out, but they still couldn’t find anyone. Right now, they’re hiding in a monster nest to avoid the cold. They’ll continue searching tomorrow. Don’t worry, I’ll do everything I can to find them.”

He had already received word from the person in the back that they’d encountered trouble. Among the pile of bones were Yi Ping and Lu Minle, but he couldn’t say that—not now, at least, because Sang San couldn’t leave!

Sang Jingwen caught Sang Chu’s gaze and instinctively nodded slightly, then turned to Liu Sheng and asked, “Will your people go out to search tomorrow?”

Liu Sheng didn’t answer him. Instead, he fixed his gaze on Sang Chu. “Your Highness Sang, you want to go out?”

Sang Chu smiled. “I’d like to, but would you let me?”

Liu Sheng shook his head. “It’s safer for Your Highness to stay inside.”

“I know, so I’m not planning to go out,” she replied, then pulled Sang Jingwen over. “Liu Sheng, you’ve got it wrong. My sister isn’t going out. I’m the one who wants to go. I want to look for him—after all, he’s my brother too. So, if you’re sending people out to search tomorrow, can you let me join them?”

Liu Sheng looked at Sang Jingwen with difficulty. “I can’t agree to that. You’ve seen for yourself how dangerous it is out there.”

“It’s precisely because it’s so dangerous that I want to look for my brother. I know Sang San has a deal with you, so you have to keep her safe and not let her go out. I understand that. But I hope you can understand me too. My brother’s life is at stake, and I can’t just sit here and do nothing. If you can’t arrange for someone to protect me, I’ll go out by myself tomorrow.”

Liu Sheng hesitated for a moment before replying, “My people are already out there, and in order to start the search at first light, they can’t return to the city tonight. The wilds at night are extremely dangerous—the cold is at least a thousand times worse than in the city. As far as I know, there’s only one monster nest near the shelters outside, and it’s old and falling apart. Even if I prepared it carefully, there are still many broken spots. I don’t know if he’ll make it through the night. Your Highness, it’s really dangerous out there. Please don’t take the risk.”

“Let’s think about it for now.”

As soon as he heard how dangerous the wilds were, and that even finding shelter might not be enough to survive, Sang Jingwen couldn’t sit still. He hurried over to Sang San, who was trembling in the corner under the lamplight.

Sang Jingwen closed the door, sat next to Sang Chu, and watched as Yi Ping and Lu Minle wrapped themselves in everything they could find, but it was no use.

He couldn’t help but say anxiously, “Sang San, he…”

“Brother, it’s okay. Don’t worry, I believe he can make it.”

She had to believe it—she couldn’t keep staying in the flower house, and before heading to Rose City, they needed a good month’s preparation. This cold was the biggest challenge, and there were many dangers in the wild. They had to find a way to survive.

Yi Ping and Sang Chu’s video feeds were still connected. By now, his teeth were chattering so hard he could barely speak. “Sis, I don’t think I’m going to make it. This cold… it’s only just started, and I’m already freezing. I really can’t hold out much longer.”

Lu Minle was even more afraid of the cold than Yi Ping. He couldn’t speak at all now—his lips were white, and there was no color left in his face.

Looking at his condition, Sang Chu suddenly remembered the drone. “Where’s the drone? What’s it like outside?”

Lu Minle, unable to hide it anymore, directly activated the controller on his video feed. The drone outside didn’t seem affected at all.

The wind was howling, and the snow was already up to a person’s calves.

But the slave left outside was just sitting on the sand, looking as if nothing was wrong.

When Sang Jingwen saw the video feed, and Sang Chu’s calm expression, he realized that the slave was on the drone—he just hadn’t told anyone else.

Sang Chu knew her brother was aware of her and Lu Minle’s plan, but she didn’t say anything. He’d find out soon enough anyway. No one knew what would happen at the Magic Academy—everything was too uncertain.

She wanted everyone to train here and return strong enough to stand their ground, but she hadn’t expected this world to be so dangerous, so full of traps!

Yi Ping didn’t have the energy to think about all that. When he saw the drone’s slave was fine—even outdoors—he hurriedly said, “Quick, quick, bring the drone back! I’m about to freeze to death!”

Lu Minle didn’t say anything, just shivered as he operated the controller and brought the drone back.

Once it was inside, the two finally came back to life.

Lu Minle took a deep breath, still shaking all over. After calling the slave back, he helped himself and Yi Ping to the bathhouse.

In the spacious bathhouse, Yi Ping and Lu Minle stripped off their clothes and lay down, drinking strong liquor to warm up. “Damn, I can’t believe this. What kind of hellish weather is this? Can anyone really survive out there?”

Lu Minle nodded. “I don’t know why the drone can withstand this cold, but it’s good news for us. At least we won’t freeze to death on the first night.”

Hearing this, Yi Ping finally relaxed and grinned, slapping Lu Minle on the shoulder. “I knew you were smart! You must’ve known the drone could handle the cold, right? Why didn’t you say so earlier? I’ve been suffering for so long!”

Lu Minle was stunned for a moment, but he was too cold to think straight. Still, this couldn’t fool Yi Ping and Mu Xue, though it didn’t escape Sang Jingwen’s notice.

He looked at Sang Chu and Sang Jingwen on the video feed and tried to sound calm. “Actually, I just figured the drone isn’t biological, so it shouldn’t be affected by this world. Plus, it’s made with high-tech materials. This magic world is full of magical stuff, but the drone is physically insulated. I thought it might work, so I gave it a try. Even if it didn’t, I could just recall the slave into the card and bring the drone back. No big deal.”

“Yeah, I knew you were smart! Not bad, not bad—you saved our lives, haha!”

In Yi Ping’s world, Lu Minle was a good guy, so he wouldn’t risk someone’s life to test if the drone could withstand the cold.

But what he didn’t know was that when Lu Minle made that decision, he was fully prepared for the slave to freeze to death. Who knew the drone could actually resist the cold?"
