Chapter 167: The Great Magic—Fusion R

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

Meng Wei’an stood beside Sang Chu, carefully holding a bowl of crushed Xirui Miao in his hands. Watching the faint magical energy swirling around, Meng Wei’an hesitated before speaking.

“Master, as you said, could you give me a little more food, and also a quiet, safe room?”

Sang Chu looked at his anxious expression and said, “Don’t worry, eat what’s in your hands first. I have plenty of this stuff. If you want more, you can help yourself. Later, I’ll teach you how to use the appliances in the room. Tonight, when it gets cold, I’ll be in the room next door.”

At this moment, Granny Xiang spoke up, “Master, I wouldn’t recommend going out at night. Rhuahua Town is quite backward, but as long as you cross the Dark Mink Forest, there are many witches who hunt at night.”

Sang Chu looked at her curiously. “Why? How do they avoid the cold at night?”

Granny Xiang replied, “There’s a special kind of fur that can resist the magic of the Demon King.”

Hearing this, Sang Chu suddenly remembered that she’d just sent Tu You out to hunt monsters, and couldn’t help but ask, “Granny, you said the Demon King releases cold air to hunt for food. So why are there so many monsters left behind?”

Granny Xiang smiled. “Master, why not take a look at these creatures before you decide?”

After she finished speaking, Sang Chu suddenly remembered the frozen corpses she’d seen before, and quickly sent a message to Tu You: [Rabbit, after you catch those monsters, cut them open and see if they’re all frozen inside.]

Tu You paused for a moment. She was in the middle of gutting a palm-sized rat, and found that all of its internal organs were frozen—so fragile that they shattered at the slightest touch.

[Ah Chu, how did you know? Look, all the organs of this monster are frozen and brittle, they’re falling to pieces all over the ground!]

Sang Chu turned to Granny Xiang and asked, “So, can these monsters still be eaten?”

“Don’t worry, Master, they can. The Snow Demon King only eats the frozen organs of these monsters. The rest is discarded, and monster meat itself isn’t worth much, so it’s edible.”

“That’s good.”

Otherwise, it would be such a waste to kill so many for nothing.

Yiping and Tu You continued hunting, but the carriage moved slowly. Along the way, Yiping and Tu You kept an eye out, staying alert in case they ran into any dangerous or mutated monsters.

“Wow, this is exhausting. Is this how you and Sang Sang used to hunt?” Yiping asked.

Tu You lay on his back and nodded. “Pretty much. But Ah Chu is quick-witted, so most of the time she can minimize the danger. We rarely ran into real trouble. This time is the most dangerous it’s ever been. This magical world is a real pain!”

Yiping sighed, “Well, there’s nothing we can do. We’ve killed so many, but who knows how much money we’ll get for them. Sigh, it’s stressful!”

Before the apocalypse, he never worried about money. During the apocalypse, money was useless. Now, in this world, he finally realized how hard it was to earn money.

Tu You said, “Alright, let’s hunt as much as we can. We’re almost at the mole rat nest.”

Yiping glanced at his watch. “It’ll take another hour. I’ll rest for a bit and then keep hunting.”

“Okay.”

The two split up. Yiping was glad he could teleport instantly, while Tu You sped up, searching non-stop for targets.

As they neared the mole rat nest, they happened to run into Mu Xue and Lu Minli, who were coming back from hunting monsters.

“Yige? Why are you alone? Where are the others?” Lu Minli asked.

Yiping was surprised to see her. “You’re out hunting too?”

“Yeah, Mu Xue is just up ahead.”

“Tu You is nearby too, but my spatial ability seems to be running low, so I’m moving slowly. Also, Sang Chu can’t leave the blood pool right now, so she has to tough it out. Are you waiting outside for the carriage to arrive so we can go back together?”

“Let’s go back together. There’s not much left to hunt around here anyway.”

“Alright, let’s wander around nearby and wait for the carriage.”

After a while, Mu Xue and Tu You returned. Tu You didn’t say much, just flopped onto Yiping’s shoulder and fell asleep.

Mu Xue kept her head down in silence. Lu Minli didn’t know what to say, so she just held her hand to comfort her.

Yiping said, “Hey, the carriage is here. I’ll go take a look.”

With that, he ran ahead. Mu Xue bit her lip as she watched him go, feeling as if there was now an invisible barrier between them, one that she herself had created.

“Yige is always in such a hurry. I’ll go too.”

“Yeah, let’s go.”

Mu Xue used to be so lively, but now she was so quiet. Lu Minli felt bad but didn’t know what to do.

“Xiaoxue…”

“I’m fine, just have some things I haven’t figured out yet. Don’t worry, I’ll go talk to Sang Sang.”

Seeing her forced smile, Lu Minli felt it was so unfamiliar—this wasn’t the Mu Xue she knew. All she could do was hope Sang Chu could help her sort out her feelings.

“No matter what happens, I’ll be here for you. Don’t worry.”

Mu Xue looked at her, then finally smiled from the heart. She took a deep breath, held Lu Minli’s hand, and said, “Alright, I know. I just have some things on my mind, it’s not the end of the world. Let’s go see how Sang Sang and Wen Ge are doing!”

When they got to the carriage, they realized just how slow Yiping had been—he was almost late.

Sang Jingwen was much better now. At least he was awake and able to talk.

Yiping sat by the pool, watching him drink soup spoonful by spoonful, and couldn’t help but laugh. “Haha, Sang Jingwen, you’ve fallen too!”

“Yeah, idiot.”

Sang Jingwen’s voice was weak, but that didn’t stop him from retorting. Sang Chu sat beside them, eating some fruit. Her body was still stiff, but at least her voice was clearer than when she’d first woken up.

“Yige, if you’re ever paralyzed, I can feed you like this too.”

“Hey, no need for that. My hands are still working. Wait until I’m old and can’t move, then you can feed me.”

At this, Yiping suddenly leaned in and whispered in Sang Chu’s ear, “Sis, is he coming back to the apocalypse with me?”

Sang Chu nodded. “Yeah, but if he doesn’t want to, I can let him go.”

“Alright, you decide when the time comes.”

Although he really wanted to bring everyone back to the apocalypse, after all, this wasn’t their world. Forcing people to leave their home didn’t seem right.

It was just a pity about his little Huo. He hoped Huo would be willing to come back with him!

What Sang Chu didn’t tell him was that she would never free these monsters, but as for the slaves, if they didn’t want to leave their homeland, she could let them go."
