Chapter 195: The Great Magic Academy – Heading to the City (5)
Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse
“You have some interesting ideas, but it’s hard to explain why such strange things as soul flowers would appear in the world of magic.”
Knowing that Sang Chu wasn’t from this world, and having seen so many plants and creatures filled with powerful energy in her space, she really started to believe that soul flowers were from another world.
While Sang Chu and Xue You were discussing the soul flower, elsewhere, Granny Xiang and Meng Weian were exchanging messages:
[Master, you mentioned before that the soil in your world is polluted, right?]
Sang Chu paused for a moment before replying: [Yes, because of the pollution, nothing can grow. Even if something does, it’s toxic and can’t be eaten.]
Meng Weian: [Granny Xiang and I saw some soil cultivation products at a shop selling magic water. They can purify toxins from soil. Should we buy some to take back?]
He wasn’t sure if those products would be useful for the acid rain–corroded land in her world, but at least it was worth a try. If they worked, they could start restoring the land.
[Buy some if you can. There are also some magical tools and ingredients I need—get as much as possible. The apocalypse probably doesn’t have what I need, so I’ll transfer you another ten million crystals. Don’t worry about saving them—if you can, buy more magical materials. It’s better to have too much than too little. Don’t wait until I need them to buy them. I’ll transfer the crystals to your card right now!]
When Meng Weian saw that Sang Chu was about to transfer him another ten million, he was silent for a long time before finally replying, his voice trembling: [Thank you, Master.]
[You’re welcome. Take your time shopping. Buy whatever you want, don’t worry about me!]
After Meng Weian and Sang Chu finished messaging, he fell silent, which was rare for him.
All his life, he’d always been the one being sold, because he had no background, no family, and no power.
His only value was the magical contract he carried.
He didn’t have the resources to cultivate, and the only reason he’d reached the second rank was because his master needed a second-rank for the academy entrance exam, so she gave him the resources to level up.
But now, the magical materials his master needed, and the crystals she’d given him, were more than he could have earned in half his life.
Meng Weian was now both excited and anxious, afraid that if he couldn’t fulfill Sang Chu’s expectations, he’d be sold off again. He didn’t want to be abandoned anymore. He wanted to follow Sang Chu and see what the future held.
Granny Xiang, seeing Meng Weian’s silence, patted him on the shoulder. “Don’t overthink it. For now, just buy everything we need and focus on getting the permanent detoxification potion. That’s the most important thing.”
The virus in Sang Chu’s body was only being suppressed by detoxification potions. No one knew when it might flare up. Clearing it out completely was the top priority.
“I know. Master gave me so many crystals, so let’s buy the ingredients first.”
“Alright.”
The shopkeeper, noticing Meng Weian calling someone “Master,” immediately realized he was a card slave. But he didn’t look down on him, since he was holding a rose card—one with a huge crystal balance.
The shopkeeper said, “If you need ingredients, you should check out the second floor. All the latest and rarest items are there.”
Xi Rui said, “Let’s go up and have a look.”
The group followed the shopkeeper upstairs, where they were greeted by a dazzling array of magical creatures and materials displayed in 360-degree cases.
There were all sorts of strange feathers and stones imbued with mysterious powers.
The shopkeeper smiled and introduced, “Every item here is carefully selected. Whether for crafting, alchemy, or research, these are all top-quality materials.”
Meng Weian’s gaze swept over the magical creatures and materials. Everything was preserved in perfect condition—even the smallest details were clear. They must have used some special preservation technique.
Among them, there was even a perfectly preserved high-level venomous corpse!
Not only Meng Weian, but the others noticed it too.
“You have a high-level venomous corpse here. Do you also have high-level detoxification potions? At least level five or above?” Xi Rui asked curiously.
The shopkeeper replied proudly, “Of course. But high-level detoxification potions require a very rare catalyst, so we keep them in the vault. As for how to trade for them, that depends on the customer. If you need one, I can arrange for someone to fetch it right away. How about it?”
When Meng Weian heard that a special catalyst was needed, he finally understood why he’d always failed to buy one before. “So that’s the reason!”
“Alright, let the other customers browse for a bit. I’ll go arrange for someone to bring it over!”
Watching the shopkeeper’s departing figure, Xi Rui stared at the venomous corpse on display. “The preservation on this specimen is incredible. It doesn’t look like something obtained through normal hunting. Someone must have taken special care with it.”
C Fei, who’d been quietly following behind, walked up to the display case and gently touched it. “There’s some kind of oil on the surface. It’s strange. I think I should call Master over to take a look.”
He felt a vague sense of unease, though he wasn’t sure why. Xi Rui felt the same. “Let’s call Master over, just in case.”
Meanwhile, Xue You and Sang Chu were strolling down the street, buying all sorts of strange little things from the stalls, when they received Xi Rui’s message.
[Master, I’m at a magic shop right now, waiting for the shopkeeper to bring out a high-level detoxification potion. He says he has one, but I’m not sure why. I feel uneasy. Could you come over and take a look?]
High-level?
Sang Chu’s hand paused. Xue You, playing with a sparkling crystal, looked at her curiously. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
“Yeah.”
After transferring the crystals, Sang Chu said to Xue You, “Can you locate Xi Rui and send me directly to her?”
“I can, but are you sure you want to go over right now?”
“I’m not sure, but Xi Rui wants me there, so I’ll go.”
Xue You looked at Sang Chu, puzzled, and couldn’t help pinching her cheek. “You’re so strange. He’s just a slave. If something happens, you can always buy another one. Is it really worth rushing over? Besides, he has the earth element and healing magic. What could possibly happen?”
“Even if he’s a slave, he’s still a person. From the moment I bought him, he became my partner. I, Sang Chu, would never abandon a companion. Whatever you want to buy, just wait. Send me over first, in case something happens.”
“Alright, alright.”"
