Chapter 198: The Grand Magic—Toward the City (8)

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

""San-san!!!""

The moment Sang Chu had her heart dug out played over and over in Mu Xue’s mind. Tears blurred her vision, and she couldn’t stop her trembling hands from pounding wildly.

Her hands, already battered and bloodied by the magical barrier, desperately tried to shatter the invisible wall before her.

""San-san...""

Mu Xue’s voice trembled. She was desperate to rush forward and save Sang Chu, but she couldn’t do anything.

Lu Minli was anxious as well, but she couldn’t act rashly. She could only rack her brains for a solution. The only way to stop Mu Xue from hurting herself and to save Sang Chu was to break through the magic in front of them.

""Yi-ge, find a spot and keep attacking the barrier. If you see any sign of a crack, let me know immediately.""

Yi Peng glanced at Mu Xue, who was crying so hard she could barely stand, her hands covered in blood, her body battered by the magic. He nodded silently. From the look in Mu Xue’s eyes, Sang Chu’s situation must be dire, but he couldn’t bring himself to say anything comforting. He could only watch her in silence.

If he stopped her from doing something, it would only make her feel worse than he did.

""Alright, I’ll go over there.""

Yi Peng unleashed a powerful attack not far from Mu Xue. After entering the area, he realized all the residents nearby had disappeared, so no matter how much noise he made, no one would notice.

Lu Minli looked at Sai Han, whose eyes were red from crying, and said, ""You too. You must find the weak point in this magic. Before Jingwen and the others arrive, I can’t just stand here and do nothing. The sooner we break the spell, the sooner we can save Sang Chu.""

Sai Han replied, ""Alright, I’ll get right on it!""

Cai looked at them and couldn’t help but ask, ""Why not just release the Earth Spirit Card?""

Lu Minli silently took out the card, looking at the name “Earth Spirit” written on it—an empty card. She explained to Sai Han and Cai, ""I already released the Earth Spirit to save Sang Chu when we were approaching this area, but it never came back. And nothing about this magic changed at all.""

Sai Han said, ""If even the Earth Spirit can’t break this barrier, what can we do?""

Lu Minli replied, ""We do what we can and leave the rest to fate. I don’t believe Sang Chu will fall here!""

Cai nodded. ""I don’t think the master will get hurt either. After all, her name is still on my card.""

His calm words snapped Lu Minli back to her senses. She quickly pulled Mu Xue up, looked into her dazed eyes, and gently wiped the blood from her hands. ""Xiao Xue, Ah Chu will be fine. Look, her name is still on the card. If she were dead, the name would disappear. But it’s still here.""

Mu Xue lifted her tear-filled eyes and looked at Lu Minli through the blur. ""But... but I saw it. San-san had her heart dug out!""

Xu Ke, a slave under Lu Minli, wasn’t very powerful in magic, but Lu Minli always found him a bit strange. Of everyone here, he was the coldest and most detached, as if he was just an outsider with no emotional ties.

""Did you see all of her organs being taken out, or just her heart?""

Xu Ke’s question struck Lu Minli as odd, but he didn’t say anything else. He just looked at Mu Xue and pressed his lips together. ""Just... her heart...""

Fresh tears streamed down Mu Xue’s face. Even in the apocalypse, she had never seen Sang Chu in such a state. If they broke this magic, she swore she would tear apart whoever hurt Sang Chu—even if it cost her life.

Xu Ke said, ""I think Sang Chu might be using this spell to fake her own death. Otherwise, with her abilities—she even tamed the Earth Spirit—how could she be captured so easily and let them do whatever they wanted?""

He hadn’t interacted much with Sang Chu, but he knew she was not someone to be underestimated. Everyone assumed the Earth Spirit followed her because of some rare food, but how could such a creature be swayed by something so simple?

He believed that woman must have some way to save herself, but she hadn’t used it yet for some reason. The only thing he could think of was that she was after some greater goal, and the stakes were high.

But what if even that method couldn’t help her escape?

Lu Minli, who had been anxious, suddenly had a flash of insight after hearing Xu Ke’s words.

""That’s right. Sang Chu always plans ten steps ahead. She wouldn’t just walk into a trap without a backup plan. I was blinded by worry, thinking this demon lord was her last resort, but what if it’s not? Xiao Xue, Ah Chu is fine. The Earth Spirit card in your hand is the best proof. Now, I need you to calm down, okay?""

Mu Xue wiped the tears from her face, clutching the card tightly. She nodded quickly. ""Okay, I can do it. Tell me what to do!""

Her voice was still choked with sobs, but she was already calming down. Lu Minli took out a handkerchief and wiped her tears as she spoke, ""Your spatial spiritual power is the best among us. I need you to calm down and carefully search for the weak points in the magic.""

""Okay, I’ll do it right now!""

She sat down on the spot, wiped the blood from her hands onto her clothes, then pressed her palms against the magic barrier. She endured the burning pain, forcing herself to stay calm, and sent her spiritual power out to probe the magic, inch by inch.

Sai Han looked at Lu Minli. ""What about me?""

Lu Minli replied, ""Everyone, work together. Once you find a weak spot, call me.""

""Got it!""

The group split up, each attacking a different area. Yi Peng was already exhausted, sweat pouring down his body. ""Master, this magic is strange. When I attack it with fire, it turns into ice!""

Unlike Mu Xue, whose hands were covered in blood and blisters, Yi Peng had prepared himself for burns, but instead, he was met with freezing cold!

Now his whole body felt scorched and frozen at the same time, but when he looked back and saw everyone else desperately using their magic and energy, he just gritted his teeth and said, ""Then work harder and melt the damn ice for me!""

""Yes, Master!""

Huo, too, was burning with anger. He took a deep breath and unleashed a powerful attack, joining Yi Peng in bombarding the barrier.

*Buzz—*

Suddenly, the magic trembled. Mu Xue felt something and immediately focused her spiritual power.

She saw it!

""Minli, Yi-ge, it’s in the air!""

Mu Xue pinpointed the location and quickly stood up, pointing. ""There! There’s a crack over there!"""

"**Chapter 199: The Great Magic—Toward the City 9**

Mu Xue pointed to a spot. Looking over, there was a place where the color was slightly different, but if you didn’t look closely, you wouldn’t notice any cracks.

“Cai, Sahei, you go up and attack that crack. Yige, you too!”

Yige, completely exhausted, leaned against Nashen and walked toward Lu Minli. “Why is this so useful?”

Lu Minli replied, “Yes, it’s up there. I saw traces left after the Earth Drake drank the lava, but I can’t be sure since I can’t see it clearly. Do you have a lava card in your hand?”

Yige nodded, took it out and handed it to him. Lu Minli tossed it into the air and shouted, “Sahei, take out your lava card too! After it appears, don’t rush in. Instead, aim for the crack and have the snake tear at it. Everyone get ready to go in with particle form. As soon as there’s a gap, go in immediately!”

Sahei quickly nodded. She looked at Cai, who nodded back, and then she stepped forward, holding the card out.

The Earth Drake instantly grew to the size of a giant egg, its sharp claws stretching into the crack, gnashing its teeth and looking even more terrifying as it drank.

Lu Minli stared intently at the crack. The Earth Drake’s claws were injured, blood dripping down through the gap.

The crack was slowly widening.

“It’s now! Everyone, get ready!”

Lu Minli immediately released his particle magic, enveloping everyone and sending them through the crack into the magic realm.

When Sang Jingwen and the city lord arrived late, what they saw was a massive Earth Drake, its claws covered in fresh blood, tearing open a small crack!

Xue You, seeing the crack from within the magic realm, instantly transformed into a white light and rushed in.

Sang Jingwen shouted, “Sorry, City Lord!”

He didn’t have time to resist and took out his particle magic, immediately sending everyone in.

**Inside the Cabin**

Sang Chu sat on the bed, looking down at the wounds on her body that had just healed, then glanced at the humanoid rabbit holding a whip. She couldn’t help but complain, “Your earth clone isn’t as impressive as you made it sound!”

Rabbit You looked at Sang Chu seriously. “As long as it works, that’s all that matters. Isn’t it fine now? You got rid of the curse that everyone else is afraid of, and you even got a new skill.”

Looking at A Shaoqing, whose body was covered in whip marks from Rabbit You, Sang Chu curiously got out of bed, put on her clothes, and squatted in front of him. “Let me ask you, after being cursed by the Corruption Demon, is it true that only people like you, who are both foolish and lucky, can survive?”

A Shaoqing still didn’t know what had happened. After he finished cleaning up the woman’s body, this man had appeared.

The whip in his hand was terrifying. With a single lash, it sealed the magic in his body. Even his soul trembled, and the pain was so intense he didn’t even dare to think of resisting.

Looking at A Shaoqing, who was trembling in fear at Rabbit You, Sang Chu grabbed his chin, forcing him to look up. “I’ll ask you again. Answer honestly.”

A Shaoqing had a very seductive face, and now, after being whipped, he looked even more fragile. But Sang Chu felt nothing for that. She just wanted the truth.

She gripped his chin tightly, leaving marks on his pale skin.

“If you don’t want to die, answer me.”

A Shaoqing replied, “Yes. Once you’re cursed by the Corruption Demon, it’s impossible to remove it. That’s why the Corruption Demon has always been after Nashen.”

“So, the antidote isn’t for the curse, but for the body?”

A Shaoqing nodded. Sang Chu continued, “Are you and Wu Qi from the same group?”

At this, A Shaoqing’s eyes flashed with fear, then turned cold as he looked at Sang Chu. “Was it you who caused the incident in the city?”

“No.”

“Then who?”

A Shaoqing was silent for a long time before saying, “I… I don’t know either. Every city has that kind of magic shop. Through magic trade, Rose Lane has always been the supplier. But for some reason, supply suddenly stopped a few years ago. After that, the Witch Academy was established, and that became the new supply center.”

The Great Magic is like a straight line. One end is Rose City, the other is all the coastal regions.

The coastal regions are basically just small towns along the sea. Once you get past three or four cities, you can’t see the ocean anymore.

Rose Lane is right at the center of all the coastal regions. That’s why the leaders of Wu Qi and the Black Witch Alliance chose it as their base.

Sang Chu asked, “Was the previous supplier an unnamed magic shop? Was the owner called Granny Mi?”

A Shaoqing nodded. He didn’t know what happened between Wu Qi and his wife, only that after the Witch Academy was built, the supply became even more abundant.

“So that’s how it is. Looks like Granny Mi really did escape disaster.”

Rabbit You commented from the side, “How did Granny Mi escape? Didn’t this guy just say Granny Mi and Wu Qi were in it together?”

Sang Chu shook her head. “No. If Granny Mi hadn’t told me to find Wu Qi, I probably would’ve died the first night. According to what he said, Rose Lane is the supply center for all the cities, so there must be many experts. I was already being watched the moment I entered the city, so after the Witch Academy was built, they sent so many people to follow me.”

“Weren’t there only people from the Liu family?”

Sang Chu: “Didn’t you notice all the shops on the street had changed owners? After the Witch Academy was built, the whole street was under their control.”

“…No…”

Rabbit You was still confused when suddenly there was a sharp scream from outside the door.

“Sang Sang!!!!!!!”

Mu Xue heard Sang Chu’s voice and rushed over. She pushed open the door and saw Sang Chu crouched on the ground. She hurried over and hugged her tightly. “You’re okay, you’re really okay!!!”

“Thank goodness!!!”

Sang Chu didn’t know how Mu Xue found her, but she looked quite a mess, especially Mu Xue. “What’s wrong? Why are you crying like this? Who bullied you?”

Mu Xue hugged Sang Chu, crying so hard she could barely speak. After a while, Mu Feng and the others arrived and also breathed a sigh of relief. “You scared us to death! Xiao Xue went berserk. She saw you being gutted by a man, and then we were all trapped by that magic. If it weren’t for Xu Ke and Cai staying calm, I would’ve died outside.”

Yige added, “Exactly, little sister, what happened?”

After tossing A Shaoqing to Rabbit You, Sang Chu stood up and hugged Mu Xue. “Xiao Xue, I’m fine, don’t worry. Sorry, I didn’t know you could see those things. It’s okay now.”

“Mm.”"
