Chapter 6: Saving Lives

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

“Wow, it’s gold!”

“Vines!”

“Oh my god, there’s water and fire too!!”

Every time Sang Chu used an ability, Tu You would cheer excitedly from the side.

“Hahaha, as expected of me, Tu Youyou, for finding such a treasure! Ah Chu, you’re actually a super five-element ability user!”

Gold, wood, water, fire, earth—plus one more. Sang Chu looked at her own hands, feeling as if she was dreaming, unable to believe it.

After she and Yuan Yang had exhausted all their abilities, she could feel the barrier inside her slowly breaking apart.

When she woke up again,

Her body had undergone obvious changes. She never expected to awaken six abilities at once.

This was truly a pleasant surprise!

“Does this mean I can condense gold bars and become as rich as Jinli and Huaxi?”

“Mhm mhm, of course! You’re basically a little rich lady now!”

The girl and the rabbit were both overjoyed, but their happiness only lasted for a minute.

“No, no, this is too draining!”

She had just managed to condense a one-meter-long, arm-thick gold bar,

And Sang Chu was already drenched in sweat, her energy completely depleted.

“I’m still too weak!”

She realized that using the gold ability consumed much more energy than the others!

Seeing Sang Chu a bit disappointed, Tu You comforted her, “You’ve only just awakened your abilities, being able to do this much is already great. Take it slow, don’t rush.”

“But I only have a few days left before I have to go back to the apocalypse. After saving you, I barely have any energy left...” She growled anxiously, but after venting, Sang Chu lowered her head. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to snap at you.”

Sang Chu, who had always thought she could handle anything, was now visibly anxious as the days ticked down to her return to the apocalypse.

Tu You said, “Don’t worry, I really think you don’t need to be so anxious. Just take things one step at a time.”

Every time she thought about going back to the apocalypse, she felt repulsed. Maybe life here was just too good. When she opened her eyes, all she saw was blue sky, all she breathed was fresh air.

These were luxuries in the apocalypse.

“I... can I bring my family and friends to live here, away from the apocalypse?”

Sang Chu looked at Tu You, hoping for a positive answer, but it said, “No, you can’t.”

“Why not? If I can come, why can’t they?”

“Because you can’t just bring anyone. You came because you bought a ticket as a spiritual ability user, and you met me, so I brought you along. Honestly, you don’t really meet the requirements for a space traveler, but you’re lucky, have good aptitude, and your abilities are deep, so you barely qualify.”

“Is there any other way?”

“If you level up, you can bring people with you. Right now, you’re just a passenger—when your ticket’s up, you have to get off at the next stop and return with the train. But once your abilities and spiritual power improve, and you become a true space traveler, you’ll be able to bring people along on your journeys.”

This was a huge piece of news, and it took Sang Chu a while to process it.

“I understand. Let’s get started then.”

“Huh?!”

Why did she suddenly become so motivated?

But for Tu You, this was a good thing!

Tu You said, “After you make a contract with me, remember to reserve a spot for me in the Star Ranking. I want to go to the space mall and buy a book on spiritual cultivation. Space travel requires strong spiritual power—the higher the destination, the faster the train, and if your spiritual power is weak, you could get wiped out in an instant.”

“Will I be able to return to the mutated world next time?”

“Hmm... directional tickets are rare, rarer than me. Don’t think about it for now.”

“So all the tickets are random? You don’t know where the next stop will be either?”

“That’s right. Because the train moves so fast, it cycles through the three thousand worlds, and every route is different, every world is different. That’s why I want you to focus on cultivating your spiritual power. Otherwise, if you end up in a high-level world, you could be crushed the moment you arrive.”

“Alright, alright, I get it!”

Sang Chu put away her impatience and grumbled a little.

“That’s why you need to cultivate!”

“Mm.”

She glanced at the traps she’d set up in the bamboo forest—there were a few small animals caught inside.

After collecting them in a storage box,

She covered up the traps again, in case someone stepped on them by accident.

Suddenly,

The ground trembled slightly.

Something was moving beneath the uneven ground.

“Ah Chu, it’s a mole!”

The mole was a level-three mutated creature, and its skin could be used to refine gold.

“Earth Split!”

With a shout, Sang Chu controlled the ground to split open.

A huge brown mole poked its head out, and Sang Chu smiled slightly. “Perfect for my green vines.”

The mole’s thick body was struggling to get out, but Sang Chu stretched out her fingers, and thorny green vines shot out instantly, tightly binding the mole.

It writhed and twisted, but the vines only tightened further.

“Constrict!”

The thorny vines tightened mercilessly, wrapping the mole up completely.

Blood dripped down, drop by drop.

The mole gradually lost its strength, but Sang Chu didn’t release her ability just yet.

Her fingers returned to normal. She opened her storage box and put the mole, wrapped in vines, inside.

Tu You said, “You’re just going to put it in there without killing it?”

“Moles have strong regenerative abilities. It’s better to keep it like this for now.”

......

“Help!”

“Retreat, retreat!!!”

Not far away, there were heart-wrenching cries, and one of the voices sounded especially familiar.

Tu You asked, “Should we go take a look?”

Sang Chu didn’t want to reveal her abilities in front of others, so she put away her gold bar and said, “Let’s go.”

With that, she headed toward the source of the shouting.

She saw a mutated brown frog with its tongue wrapped around a boy in protective gear.

The boy didn’t look very old.

Sang Chu wasn’t wearing protective gear herself. If she was attacked by the mutant’s weapons, it would be dangerous. She looked around, then quickly used her wood ability to climb up a big tree.

She glanced at the people on the ground.

Zuo Xuefeng?

Tu You said, “Isn’t that Zuo Xuefeng? The one next to him must be his younger brother. But you’re not wearing protective gear, how are you going to save them?”

Sang Chu didn’t answer. Instead, the older boy shouted, “Zuo Xuefeng!”

Hearing a stranger call his name, Zuo Xuefeng looked toward the source, and saw someone standing in the tree!

He didn’t know who she was, but the current situation was too urgent!

“Danger! Run!”

Her shout attracted the mutated frog’s attention. Its head turned toward her, right as Zuo Xuefeng was about to be attacked.

Now’s the time!

Sang Chu leapt down, and Zuo Xuefeng’s eyes widened. “Stop shooting! Stop shooting!

“She’s not wearing protective gear!”

But no one expected that, instead of being attacked by the mutant frog, they saw this thin woman slash down with a single stroke, cutting off the frog’s tongue.

She grabbed its eye, flipped over its body, and with another slash, the mutated frog’s head hit the ground—dead."
