Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Surprisingly Attentive
Reborn in the 1980s Becoming the Group's Darling Little Lucky Treasure
In the next few minutes, Yu Nuannuan felt like a rag doll, being moved and handled this way and that.
It was a bit embarrassing, but at least she didn’t feel as uncomfortable as before.
Yu Nuannuan managed to open her eyes, but everything in front of her was hazy—she couldn’t see a thing.
Although she hadn’t studied medicine, Yu Nuannuan was still someone who had lived through the internet age, so she knew a fair bit about many things.
For example, she knew that newborn babies couldn’t see yet because their eyes hadn’t fully developed.
In a few days, she’d be able to see.
So Yu Nuannuan wasn’t worried.
At this moment, even though she had the soul of an adult, her body was still tiny and fragile.
No matter how much she wanted to listen to the people around her and figure out what was going on, she couldn’t resist the wave of drowsiness. After a yawn, she drifted off to sleep.
Xu Shuhua placed the swaddled baby next to Chen Qiaoqin. “Qiaoqin, are you hungry?”
Chen Qiaoqin shook her head. “Mom, I’m not hungry!”
She’d just had the New Year’s Eve dinner before going into labor, and it hadn’t been that long since—how could she be hungry already?
Xu Shuhua didn’t pay any attention to what Chen Qiaoqin said. She just went on, “Wait here, I’ll go make you some brown sugar egg soup! I’ll be right back!”
With that, Xu Shuhua rushed out like a gust of wind, leaving Chen Qiaoqin staring in astonishment.
Zhang Yugui, the eldest daughter-in-law, who had just finished cleaning up for Chen Qiaoqin, couldn’t help but laugh. “Fourth Sister-in-law, don’t be surprised! Ever since I married into the family, Mom’s been hoping for a granddaughter. Who would’ve thought she’d have to wait eight or nine years? She already has six grandsons, and finally, there’s a granddaughter—of course she’s over the moon!”
The second daughter-in-law, Wang Meihua, chimed in with a laugh as well. “A little girl really is different. Look how well-behaved she is—she’s already asleep. I still remember when I gave birth to those two little rascals of mine, their cries were deafening! My head was splitting, and I couldn’t get any rest at all!”
The third daughter-in-law, Zhao Chunlan, looked on enviously. “Who knows if I’ll ever get to have a daughter? If I could have such a sweet, well-behaved little girl, that would be wonderful!”
Chen Qiaoqin had been married into the Yu family for two years now, and she knew that everyone—her parents-in-law, brothers- and sisters-in-law—had all been hoping for a girl in the family.
But knowing was one thing; experiencing it firsthand was another.
Chen Qiaoqin turned her head to look at the sleeping little girl, her heart melting into a puddle.
She loved this child, not just because she was a girl who would win the affection of her in-laws and siblings-in-law,
but more so because this was the child she had carried for ten months, a piece of her own flesh and blood.
The room was quiet when suddenly there was a gentle knock at the door, followed by the voice of Yu Hai, the fourth son of the Yu family.
“Big Sis, Second Sis, Third Sis, how are Qiaoqin and the baby?”
Yu Hai’s voice was soft, but it couldn’t hide his nervousness.
He’d already asked the same question when Xu Shuhua went out earlier, but she’d shooed him out of the kitchen for getting in the way, barely saying a word to him.
With no other choice, he’d come over to ask again.
Zhang Yugui winked at Chen Qiaoqin. “Who would’ve thought our clumsy Fourth Brother could be so attentive?”
Chen Qiaoqin blushed, too embarrassed to say a word.
Seeing this, Zhang Yugui stopped teasing her, went to the door, and opened it. “Everything’s taken care of. Come in and have a look!”"
