Chapter 131: The Only One She Left Out

Reborn in the Eighties: Remarrying a Soldier

When Fu Mingxue saw her mother busying herself, she went to look for her two little ones.

“Baby, Mommy’s home. Come on, say ‘Mommy’ for me.”

“Mommy—”

“Mommy—”

The two kids called out in their sweet, childish voices at the same time, catching Fu Mingxue completely by surprise.

“Oh my, my babies, what did you just say? Come on, say ‘Mommy’ again for me.”

“Mommy—”

“Mommy—”

The two children repeated in their adorable, milky voices.

Fu Mingxue was so excited that she planted a kiss on each of their little cheeks.

“Aww, amazing! You actually called me Mommy!”

She was both shocked and delighted.

She hadn’t really expected anything—she was just teasing them as usual.

But she never thought the two little ones would actually say it.

She was over the moon.

“Mom, Mom, Haohao and Keke just called me Mom!”

Just then, Fu’s mother happened to walk by. She rolled her eyes. “They can already call me Grandma. Isn’t it normal for them to call you Mom? Why are you making such a fuss?”

Fu Mingxue: …?

Fu’s mother couldn’t stand how silly she looked.

“Aren’t you going to pack your things? Let the kids play by themselves. Hurry up and get ready. We have a lot to do tomorrow. For example, you need to go talk to your in-laws about us leaving.”

Fu Mingxue replied immediately, “I’ll go over after dinner, and pack up at home tomorrow.”

Fu’s mother thought about it and agreed.

“In the evening, your in-laws should all be home.”

“Alright.”

With that, she stopped worrying about her daughter.

She had to go make dinner, and then tidy up in the evening—there was so much to do!

There were two chickens in the yard—one she had bought herself two days ago, and the other had been given to them by her in-laws.

Fu’s mother decided to kill one for her daughter to eat tonight.

Her daughter had been working hard these past few days—she needed to be well-nourished.

——

At dinner, Fu Mingxue praised her mother again. “Mom, your cooking is still the best. I really can’t live without you—”

Fu’s mother shot her a look. “Even while eating, you can’t keep your mouth shut. Hurry up and eat, then go to the Qin’s. Don’t be too late.”

Fu Mingxue didn’t really care about being late, but she figured her mom would worry.

So she sped up and finished her meal.

After eating, she headed to the Qin family’s house.

The Qin family usually ate dinner a bit later.

When they saw Fu Mingxue arrive, they were all surprised.

Mother Qin immediately put down her chopsticks and stood up. “Mingxue, you’re back! We’re just having dinner—come, sit down and eat with us—”

Fu Mingxue hadn’t expected to arrive right at dinnertime.

Seeing her mother-in-law trying to pull her to the table, she quickly declined, “Mom, I just ate before coming over. You go ahead and eat, I’ll sit in the living room for a bit.”

Mother Qin urged, “Have a little more!”

“Mom, really, I’m full. You all eat, I’ll go watch some TV.” The food at her own house was so good that she’d already eaten her fill.

She couldn’t fit another bite.

Seeing this, Mother Qin didn’t insist. “Alright then. Go watch TV.”

Fu Mingxue hurried to the living room and turned on the TV—though there wasn’t much to watch, just a few channels.

Twenty minutes later, the Qin family finished dinner.

They all gathered in the living room.

Fu Mingxue greeted each one, “Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom, Big Brother—”

As for Lan Qingman—she skipped her entirely.

She didn’t give her even a shred of face.

Lan Qingman, who had been waiting for her to call her “Sister-in-law,” was furious—what did Fu Mingxue mean by this?

She greeted everyone in the family except her?

She was the eldest sister-in-law! In ancient times, the eldest sister-in-law was practically like a mother!

“How’s work going?” Grandpa Qin was the first to ask."
