Qin Wenhuo hadn’t originally planned to leave.

The mother and daughter had just arrived in Beijing. Although the house looked clean, he’d intended to help tidy up a bit more.

Your friend is so thoughtful—not only did they get everything we need, they even cleaned the house so well. When you have time, you should invite your friend over for a meal to thank them.”

Fu’s mother continued, “Oh right, when you get married, you should invite your friend to the wedding banquet too.”

She forced a smile. “Mom, that person might be really busy. We’ll see when the time comes.”

Fu’s mother said, “Alright, but we really have to thank them properly.”

Fu Mingxue didn’t want to talk about this anymore, so she quickly changed the subject. “Mom, didn’t you say you wanted to take a bath? Go heat up some water!”

“This is so much better than our old place. There’s even a proper bathing area. I’ll go heat the water now, and you can have a good wash too.”

Seeing her mom head to the kitchen, Fu Mingxue finally relaxed.
