Chapter 94: From Now On, This Is My Room Too

Reborn in the Eighties: Remarrying a Soldier

As soon as Qin Wenhuo’s mother left, Fu Mingxue’s mother turned to her daughter and sighed, “Your mother-in-law seems very easy to get along with. She’s a good person.”

She was genuinely happy for her daughter.

A good mother-in-law is worth more than anything.

If you end up with a difficult mother-in-law, no matter how good your husband is, life will still be a mess and never truly smooth.

“She does seem nice, but there’s still a troublesome sister-in-law in Qin Wenhuo’s family. Still, it doesn’t really matter, since we won’t be living together anyway.”

Hearing there was a troublesome sister-in-law, Fu’s mother frowned a little.

But then she thought about it—her daughter really wouldn’t have to live with that sister-in-law, which was a huge relief.

“These two little ones are so good. Are they hungry? I’ll go cook something for them—”

“Mom, you hold them for now. I’ll go make some formula.”

“Alright, there’s hot water in the thermos.” Fu’s mother didn’t think much about where the formula came from.

She just assumed her son-in-law had brought it over earlier.

Fu Mingxue went back to her room first, then took out the formula and two bottles from her space.

She went to the kitchen and sterilized them with hot water.

——

The two kids had never had formula before, but ever since Qin Wenhuo adopted them, they’d gotten used to it.

They really liked drinking the mixed formula.

Fu’s mother had only ever raised her own daughter, Fu Mingxue, so now, holding these two little ones just over a year old, her heart was melting.

When Qin Wenhuo came back, the two little ones had already fallen asleep after drinking their formula.

He didn’t see the kids, nor did he ask.

He trusted Fu Mingxue to take good care of them.

“Why did you buy so many groceries?” Fu Mingxue was a bit shocked to see how much he was carrying.

Just then, Qin Wenshu came in too, also carrying a lot.

“Sis-in-law, are you running low on firewood? Wenhuo and I will go get some for you later. And some coal too—we’ll bring you extra.”

That was exactly what Fu Mingxue needed.

“Great, thank you so much.”

Qin Wenshu grinned and waved his hand. “No trouble at all!”

Fu’s mother said, “You both have to stay for lunch.”

Qin Wenshu was about to refuse, but saw his cousin had already agreed for him.

“Alright.”

Fu’s mother was delighted.

She saw they’d even bought a chicken, so she decided to cook it for lunch.

Qin Wenhuo and Qin Wenshu made two more trips, bringing over chopped firewood and coal.

They stacked it all neatly in a corner of the yard.

At noon, Fu’s mother prepared a whole table full of dishes.

Qin Wenshu ate so much his mouth was greasy. “Auntie, I didn’t expect your cooking to be this good. It’s way better than my mom’s!”

Fu’s mother was very pleased. “It’s just home cooking. If you like it, eat more.”

After the meal, Qin Wenhuo started to clear the table, but Fu’s mother pushed him away.

“I’m here, how could I let you do it? The kids are about to wake up, go check on them.”

Qin Wenshu took his leave.

“Auntie, I’ll get going then.”

“Alright, come again next time.”

“Will do!”

Qin Wenshu left.

Qin Wenhuo went to Fu Mingxue’s room, since the two kids were napping on her bed.

He looked around the room, a little surprised. The room was set up really nicely, nothing like it had been hastily arranged just yesterday.

Just then, Fu Mingxue walked in. “So, what do you think? Not bad, right?”

Qin Wenhuo nodded. “It’s really nice. But, you just said something wrong—”

Fu Mingxue: “...?”

Qin Wenhuo looked at her seriously. “From now on, this is my room too!”"
