Chapter 155: Total Annihilation
Returning to Before the Apocalypse, I Emptied the World's Supplies
Everyone on site was on high alert, as if facing a formidable enemy.
Though fear was palpable, the other side was clearly well-trained.
“Boss, should we tell the brothers downstairs to search the whole building perimeter?” A young man picked up his walkie-talkie, his expression tense as he asked for instructions.
Hearing this, Jiang Yan realized that Sun Jingtao and the others probably hadn’t launched their attack yet.
Of course, it was also possible they’d already infiltrated quietly and were just waiting for the right moment to strike.
“Yes! Tell them to check the water cell and the operations room immediately! If even a single hand is missing, I’ll hold you all accountable!
And if anyone tries to use the chaos to escape, kill them all—leave no one alive!” Zhao Nianzu’s eyes lifted coldly, his gaze as venomous and ruthless as a viper.
The earthworm-like scar on his forehead made his vicious face look even more hideous and terrifying.
“Yes, sir!”
No sooner had the young man replied than his eyes flickered with panic. “Boss, this is bad! The walkie-talkies are dead!”
The others quickly tried theirs, but all they heard was a burst of static and the sound of lost signal.
In an instant, everyone’s fear spiked to the max.
But Zhao Nianzu just tugged the corner of his mouth into a calm, cold sneer and snorted:
“Go! Take this infrared detector and check the rooftop. See how many people are hiding up there like geckos!” As he spoke, Zhao Nianzu took off something from his wrist that looked like a fitness tracker and tossed it to the young man.
The device’s face was a large, grid-like mirror, with a flashing red arrow in the center.
Jiang Yan instantly understood.
So this was the high-tech gadget they’d used to spot her.
Which meant—how long had they been aware of her presence?
“Yes, boss!” The young man hurried out with the device.
The room fell into silence.
Ma Longbiao squinted at Jiang Yan, who seemed vaguely familiar.
Although she wore tactical goggles and a special mask that covered her face completely, her aura and build were still quite recognizable.
Zhao Nianzu’s lips twitched as he looked at Jiang Yan, his tone eerie:
“Little girl, you’ve been lying up there all this time. Must be cold and uncomfortable, huh?”
Jiang Yan ignored him, only raising an eyebrow and letting out a cold laugh.
What Zhao Nianzu didn’t know was that, at that very moment, the invisible Huabao had already silently wrapped itself around his neck, wrists, and ankles.
It was just hovering there, not yet tightening or exerting force.
Take out the leader first—an eternal rule in any fight.
Huabao’s three vines, each no longer than four or five meters, were more than enough to restrain one person, and still leave two vines free to keep Jiang Yan protected.
Seeing Jiang Yan’s look of disdain, Zhao Nianzu’s face darkened. He changed his tone, erupting in anger:
“Tell me, do you have accomplices?! Who sent you?! What are you doing on my turf in the middle of the night?!”
Jiang Yan was about to signal Huabao to act when Ma Longbiao suddenly shouted in alarm:
“Boss, she’s Jiang Yan! The one from Qianshui Bay I told you about!”
Zhao Nianzu frowned slightly at this.
“Mm—”
He tried to speak, but suddenly found his throat blocked, as if a snake as thick as a wrist was coiling tightly around his neck.
The pressure increased. He tried to move his limbs to signal his men, only to realize his wrists and ankles were also bound.
He could only glare frantically at the others, eyes bulging and face turning red.
The others quickly sensed something was wrong.
“Boss, what’s wrong?!”
“Mm—” Zhao Nianzu seemed to be under some kind of spell.
Ma Longbiao stared at Jiang Yan’s calm face, demanding in terror:
“Jiang Yan, what did you do to our boss?!”
This woman was seriously freaky!
Not only did she have guns and weapons, she could even use sorcery?!
If this wasn’t a dimensionality reduction strike, what was?!
Everyone else turned to stare at Jiang Yan.
Jiang Yan’s gaze lingered coldly on Zhao Nianzu’s face. “If you want to live, drop your weapons, raise your hands, and back out of the room!”
As she spoke, she mentally signaled Huabao to loosen its grip on Zhao Nianzu’s neck.
He gasped desperately for air, panic in his voice. “Do as she says! Now!”
“Boss—” The others hesitated, torn.
With weapons, they could at least put up some resistance. After all, only the boss seemed to be under this “sorcery.”
But if they all dropped their weapons, wouldn’t they be putting their heads on the chopping block?
Still, none dared defy the order.
Zhao Nianzu tried to say more, but found his throat once again squeezed tightly by the invisible serpent.
He frantically shot murderous glares at his men—anger and killing intent blazing in his eyes.
But that anger wasn’t directed at Jiang Yan, but at his own people, who still hadn’t dropped their weapons.
Suddenly, the pressure on his neck eased a little. He was about to speak when—crack!—his right hand was snapped by a tremendous force.
“Aaagh!”
Zhao Nianzu howled in pain. “Get out! Now! Or I’ll kill him myself!”
“Shit!” The others’ pupils shrank, a chill running from their feet to their skulls.
*Clack! Clack!*
One by one, everyone dropped their weapons on the conference table and filed out the door.
Jiang Yan deliberately brought up the rear. As she passed, she swept the submachine guns and other hot weapons off the table and stashed them all in her storage space.
“Open the curtains! Everyone stand by the window!” Jiang Yan ordered, gun trained on them.
The group exchanged glances, unsure of her intentions.
Ma Longbiao, however, volunteered and quickly yanked the blackout curtains open.
Outside, rain poured in torrents, the darkness impenetrable.
With the lights on inside, the panicked faces of the group were reflected clearly in the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Ma Longbiao, now at the front of the line, gave Jiang Yan a mocking smile:
“Jiang Yan, do you know what we’re wearing? I’d advise you to think twice, or else—heh—”
As he spoke, the remaining men wearing bomb vests grinned maliciously.
If any of them detonated, they could take the whole building down.
So if the enemy attacked, it would be mutual destruction.
Jiang Yan ignored him, swept her cold gaze over the group, and mentally commanded, “Huabao, get ready to attack!”
“Jie jie jie! Yes, Mama!”
After quickly running through the plan with Huabao, Jiang Yan raised her assault rifle and fired a burst at the floor-to-ceiling windows.
*Crash!* Glass shattered, and a cold wind mixed with pounding rain swept into the room.
Everyone shivered, and at that moment, an invisible force swept up Zhao Nianzu—face flushed, eyes bulging—and hurled him at the group.
Ma Longbiao and the others, startled, reached for their detonation switches.
*Boom!*
In a flash, a powerful invisible shockwave swept up all the villains and flung them out into the rain.
*BOOM!*
A thunderous explosion, like lightning ripping through the night, instantly illuminated everything around."
