Chapter 91: The Sharpshooter—Song Qian

Returning to Before the Apocalypse, I Emptied the World's Supplies

“He couldn’t have run into those mutant leeches, could he? But those leeches usually only show up near residential areas. This place is so sparsely populated, there shouldn’t be any around.” Qi Mengnan analyzed the situation, but her heart still skipped a beat.

“Not good!” Song Qian had a bad feeling. He grabbed his gun and left the safe room, but stopped short in front of the living room’s floor-to-ceiling window.

Outside the window, where they’d previously docked the speedboat, the water was now visibly rippling.

Song Qian said nothing.

He raised his submachine gun with intense focus, aiming right where the speedboat would emerge, his eyes peering through the scope.

The man-eating flower, which had been sprawled atop the glass, had no idea what he was up to. Its beady eyes spun around, and it subtly shifted its body to look outside.

Inside the safe room, Qi Mengnan and Zhao Ziyi, who had been busy gathering supplies, froze for a moment before grabbing their waterproof bags and striding out after him.

“Liu Junsheng’s double-crossing us? No wonder he kept asking me how to drive the speedboat earlier! Damn, I knew that bastard was up to no good!” Zhao Ziyi slapped his forehead, suddenly enlightened.

“We can’t lose our speedboat!”

Qi Mengnan was alarmed and was about to dash out, but Zhao Ziyi grabbed her arm.

“Qi-jie, with Song Qian-ge here, he won’t get far. Chasing after him now won’t help.”

Qi Mengnan: “...”

While she hesitated, the roar of the speedboat’s engine came from outside.

In just a second or two, the red-and-black-striped speedboat shot out from the gap in the wall.

“Song Qian, shoot!” Qi Mengnan urged anxiously.

But Song Qian didn’t fire immediately. Instead, he silently calculated the target’s trajectory.

With a submachine gun in hand, he made it feel like a sniper rifle.

Out on the water, Liu Junsheng couldn’t see the people behind the glass, but with one hand on the motor, he raised the other and flipped them the bird, a cocky, disdainful grin on his face.

“I—” Zhao Ziyi was so angry he nearly jumped up.

Liu Junsheng had already turned away.

At that moment, Song Qian pulled the trigger.

Bang! The floor-to-ceiling window shattered.

Thud! Almost simultaneously, another bullet shot out with a “whoosh,” flying straight at Liu Junsheng.

Liu Junsheng’s body jerked, twitched twice, then slumped down into the boat.

The speeding boat began spinning in circles on the spot.

Such accuracy at this distance left Qi Mengnan and Zhao Ziyi stunned for a second.

“Damn, Song Qian-ge, you really are Anming’s number one sharpshooter!”

“Let’s go!”

Song Qian ignored Zhao Ziyi’s praise and led the two of them out at a run.

The house quickly returned to its previous silence.

The man-eating flower, which had been itching to move, scrambled over to the door. After confirming the three had gone downstairs, it hurriedly sent a message to Jiang Yan via telepathy.

“Chieh chieh chieh!” Mama, they’re gone!

Receiving the message, Jiang Yan finally emerged from her space and put away the man-eating flower.

She glanced out the window—Song Qian and the others had already reached the ground floor and were swimming quickly toward the speedboat.

After Liu Junsheng’s stunt, Jiang Yan figured they probably wouldn’t return to this house.

She thought for a moment, then decided to head back into her space for now.

Outside, it was gloomy and cold, but inside her space, the sun was shining and it was warm and pleasant.

Jiang Yan had slipped into her space the moment Song Qian fired his gun and broke in.

But before she entered, she had a sudden idea to run an experiment with Flower Buddy.

Her space allowed her to enter and exit at will, but after using it for a while, she’d discovered two problems:
