Chapter 155: Chapter 155: The Three-Meter-Tall Giant

Transmigrated to a Primitive Tribe to Farm and Build Infrastructure

“Gen, is this unique building called a cave dwelling?” Anbian looked around in amazement at everything inside the cave, his eyes full of shock and disbelief.

Anbian was the chief of the Heavenly Lion Tribe.

After hearing Wu’s suggestion, the tribe sent Anbian himself to the Kanashan Mountain Witch Hall. Apparently, the Heluo Tribe’s Black Panther Clan wanted to trade red fruit with the Lion Tribe—what the Heluo called chili peppers.

When Anbian heard this, he was thrilled.

The Lion Tribe loved red fruit, and their territory was full of it.

They had always hoped to use red fruit to trade with other beast tribes in the Twilight Forest, but every tribe had their own preferences, and almost no one wanted to trade for red fruit.

This time, the Heluo Tribe had taken the initiative.

Anbian couldn’t wait—he had his people pick thousands of catties of red fruit and personally brought them to the Kanashan Mountain Witch Hall. The Heluo Tribe’s Black Panther Clan lived near Kanashan Mountain and had plenty of good things.

Anbian was already calculating how to make this trade happen.

But as soon as he entered the Witch Hall, he ran into Xifeng from the Bear Tribe, who had also brought thousands of catties of seaweed. The two exchanged glances, both seeing the surprise and excitement in each other’s eyes.

Without stopping to chat, they went straight into the Witch Hall to meet Wu.

Now, back to the present—

“That’s right, these are cave dwellings. They’re special houses our tribe built to suit the geography of the Heluo Tribe’s land. What do you think? Not any worse than the houses of your two tribes, right?” Gen smiled, hands behind his back, and led the way into the living room.

The main house’s living room hadn’t been used by Chang Xia and the others yet.

Facing the main house, Su Ye’s cave was on the left, and Chang Xia and Chen Rong’s room was on the right.

Stepping over the threshold, there were two grand armchairs in the center.

On either side were matching wooden chairs.

In the middle stood a long table. Chang Xia hadn’t planned on furnishing the place so much—these tables and chairs were all Su Ye’s idea.

And now—

They were coming in handy.

“Hehehe—” Xifeng grinned widely, his eyes full of curiosity as he examined the tables and chairs set up in the main hall, making no effort to hide his fondness. “Gen, give me a few sets of these tables and chairs. How about I trade you some seaweed for them?”

Xifeng, the chief of the Earth Tribe, was a towering man three meters tall—he looked like a giant even when seated. His rugged face was dominated by a pair of striking eyes, and with his thick, dark beard, he resembled a wild man.

Beside him, Anbian, the Lion Tribe chief, appeared much more refined in comparison.

“Sure,” Gen replied without hesitation, readily agreeing to Xifeng’s proposal.

Making wooden chairs wasn’t complicated. With the skills of Xifeng and Anbian, they could probably figure it out just by looking a few times. Xifeng’s offer to trade seaweed for the furniture was more a gesture of goodwill toward the Heluo Tribe, and also to avoid tarnishing the Bear Tribe’s reputation.

Anbian ran his hand along the edge of the table and chair, admiring them. “Gen, I really envy your Black Panther Tribe. You have so many good things.”

It was obvious—Anbian was interested too, but Xifeng had beaten him to the punch.

“Yadong, you all go back to the cave and rest. And let Nanfeng and the others know to come help prepare breakfast,” Su Ye instructed.

She sent Baiqing, who was beside her, back to the cave to rest as well.

They had rushed over in a hurry, traveling through the rain. The adults didn’t feel it was too hard, but Baiqing stubbornly refused to be carried or let anyone give him a ride, so he’d had a tough time on the way.

Yadong and the others nodded, set their vine baskets down in the corridor, and left. The matters to be discussed next weren’t for them to weigh in on. Besides, after two days of constant travel, they were indeed tired. Resting in the cave was the best choice.

“Don’t just stand there, have a seat and let’s talk.” Su Ye gestured for everyone to sit. She didn’t take the chief’s seat at the head of the table, but instead sat at the upper right of the long table.

Bringing Anbian and Xifeng to the Heluo Tribe this time was precisely so they could talk face-to-face.

Changxia was generous, and the Heluo Tribe was open-minded. The spread of ginkgo would surely change the course of the beast tribes in the Misty Forest. As a shaman of the beast tribes, Su Ye was deeply gratified.

The better the beast tribes developed, the greater the benefit for the shamans.

“I’m going to the cellar to get something—” Gen nodded to Su Ye and got up to head to Changxia’s family cellar. He planned to bring out some maple sugar as a treat—he certainly wasn’t going to bring out the thatch root sugar. But maple sugar and syrup were presentable.

After all, the tribe planned to showcase maple sugar and syrup at the next Normandy Grand Market. Now, they were just getting a head start.

Su Ye guessed Gen’s intention as soon as he spoke, but didn’t stop him.

Meanwhile, the conversation in the main hall was heating up.

In the next room, Chenrong was waking up Changxia, who yawned, still half-asleep.

“Changxia, the shaman has brought the chiefs of the Lion and Bear tribes,” Chenrong said.

Changxia tilted her head in confusion. “The shaman, the Lion and Bear tribe chiefs... What’s that about?”

Clearly, she wasn’t fully awake yet.

“Changxia—” Baiqing called softly from the doorway. Soaking wet, he wanted to take a hot bath before going back to sleep. But when he went to the kitchen, he found there was no fire going, nor any firestones to be seen. So he came to find Changxia and Chenrong.

“Baiqing?” Changxia opened her eyes, surprised to see him at the door. She looked at Chenrong, confused. “Chenrong, what’s going on with Baiqing?”

“Baiqing came with the shaman. You should get up—the shaman brought the Lion and Bear tribe chiefs, and they’re all sitting in the next room,” Chenrong explained. He turned to Baiqing and asked, “Baiqing, do you need something?”

“I want to light a fire and heat some water for a bath, but I can’t find the firestone in the kitchen,” Baiqing said helplessly. He was also curious about what had been going on in the Heluo Tribe these past two days. Why was Changxia still sleeping in broad daylight?

“Firestone? Who took it?” Changxia asked, surprised.

“Maybe Shankun took it with him to the southern wilderness of White Lake when he came back for seasonings yesterday. I’ll go check the kitchen. You get up—don’t keep the shaman and the others waiting,” Chenrong said.

“Oh, okay,” Changxia replied.

As soon as Chenrong and Baiqing left, she shot up from her kang bed. Did she just hear that the shaman and the Lion and Bear tribe chiefs were here? No way!

Changxia quickly changed into clean clothes, patted her cheeks to wake herself up, opened the door, and walked into the living room next door.

“Su, Shaman... you’re here!”

Seeing Su Ye sitting at the upper right of the long table, Changxia almost called her “Granny Su Ye,” but when she noticed the unfamiliar faces in the room, she quickly changed it to “Shaman.”

“Changxia, you must be exhausted,” Su Ye waved her over.

Yadong and the others had already told Su Ye everything that had happened in the tribe these past few days, so she understood why Changxia looked so tired and felt sorry for her.

Changxia walked over to Su Ye and said playfully, “I’m not tired, just a bit sleepy. I took a nap and feel much better now. Shaman, these people are—?”

“Changxia, let me introduce you,” Gen said as he walked back into the living room carrying a jar of maple sugar. “This is Anbian, chief of the Lion Tribe from the Sky Lion Tribe. Across from him is Xifeng, chief of the Bear Tribe from the Earth Tribe. The others are their tribesmen.”
