Chapter 35: The Flirty Man with Peach Blossom Eyes

Big Boss Builds Infrastructure in the Interstellar Era

At this moment, across from where Mo Xie and the others had just been standing, separated by a frenzied beast, the gaunt local residents all froze mid-action, clutching their tools and staring blankly at Yun Qimu’s group.

Their faces were full of confusion.

What just happened?

Weren’t they fighting for their lives? Why did everyone suddenly stop? And now they’re leaving?

“ROAR—”

At the edge of the battlefield, a massive berserk beast broke free from Yun Qimu’s control. Its deafening roar made everyone on the field shudder, their hair standing on end as they instinctively raised their weapons.

The silent battlefield began to stir restlessly with that single beastly roar.

The savage, primal nature of the wild beasts was awakening once again.

Yun Qimu was hit by the backlash on the spot, clutching her chest as she spat out another mouthful of blood. Her lips, stained red and white, parted in a grimace as she ground her teeth viciously.

Damn it, there’s actually another berserk beast that’s awakened its psychic powers!

With a dark expression, she turned and shouted urgently to Tang En and the others, “Run faster!”

Suppressing her headache, and with the mainframe’s constant blaring in her mind, she barked coldly at the locals, “If you want to live, follow us!”

The disheveled, dirty locals exchanged glances, looking at their companions, then at the few berserkers on the other side. Their gaunt faces showed hesitation.

The only man among them who stood out—dressed in a flashy red shirt and white pants—suddenly snapped back to his senses. His peach blossom eyes sparkled with excitement as he looked at Yun Qimu’s group, and he grinned, exclaiming, “What are we waiting for? Let’s run with them!”

“But, but what about Amos and the chieftain? They’re just affected by that weird wind, they haven’t hurt us. There’s still hope for them.”

As the berserk beasts around them grew restless again and the howling storm approached, the locals grew anxious, but still couldn’t bear to abandon their clansmen.

“What’s so hard about that? Just tie them up and carry them with us.”

The flirty man with peach blossom eyes blinked, and several vines instantly shot out from his hands. Taking advantage of the berserkers’ temporary daze, he swiftly bound them up tight, cocooning them like silkworms.

The locals were overjoyed. A few strong ones stepped forward, hoisted their bound comrades, and dashed after Yun Qimu’s group.

Despite their scrawny appearance, they were explosively strong and fast, as if riding on wind and fire wheels. In no time, they caught up right behind Yun Qimu’s group.

The flirty man with peach blossom eyes—Pei Yu—wasn’t having such an easy time. He was giving it everything he had, but still couldn’t keep up with the locals.

All he could do was pant desperately at the back, cursing inwardly, Did these people eat spinach or something? How the hell are they so fast?

He’d started out in the lead, but now he was dead last. Behind him, a berserk beast was eyeing his backside, and beside him, Ah Hua stuck out her round, dark face.

She wasn’t out of breath at all, but her face was flushed with shy excitement as she looked at him. “Yu, can’t run anymore? I’ll carry you.”

Pei Yu’s pale face turned bright red with indignation. He refused fiercely, “N-no need, I can run by myself. A man never admits defeat!”

He gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead, determined to run on his own even if it killed him.

Ah Hua’s eyes sparkled even brighter at the sight. Yu is such a good man!

Pei Yu: …

Ugh, damn it, this is just too much!

“ROAR.” Another beastly roar sounded right behind him, a foul, gaping maw just inches away. Pei Yu jolted in terror and shot forward even faster.

After a desperate, panicked sprint, the group finally caught sight of Earth Village.

Compared to the pitch-black, oppressive, storm-ravaged world outside, Earth Village was a haven of peace.

Bright skies, thriving danmu trees, and leisurely swaying leaves created a tranquil, harmonious world of its own.

Not only did Mo Xie, Tang En, and the others look over in delight, but the locals following behind also stared wide-eyed.

Holy crap, what kind of magical place is this?

Why do the trees have bloodlines?

“Hurry, faster, faster!” With hope in sight, Yun Qimu and the others pushed themselves harder, and the locals gritted their teeth and kept up.

At the front, Papa Yun carried Yun Qimu, leading the charge. Behind them were Haru, Tang En, and the locals helping carry the children, followed by the star pirates who’d appeared out of nowhere to join the run. At the very back, a horde of berserk beasts chased after them, making for a grand, chaotic procession.

At the same time, the upgraded, evolved Level 1 Magnetic Core Storm finally arrived.

It swept in from behind, carrying the breath of death and the force to destroy everything.

The world seemed to be stained with black ink, darkness spreading rapidly, expanding at an alarming rate. The savage beast roars that accompanied it made everyone’s scalp tingle.

Goosebumps crawled from their feet to the tops of their heads.

The heavy shadow of death clung to them like a second skin.

One by one, the tiny humans wore looks of panic and struggle, faces turning blue as they ran for their lives.

Yun Qimu, slumped on Papa Yun’s shoulder, watched as the dark storm mercilessly bore down on them, drawing closer and closer, about to swallow them whole.

Her pupils shrank sharply. She pressed her lips together, a fierce glint flashing in her eyes as she unleashed her psychic power once more.

The mainframe was alarmed: [Are you crazy? You want to fight a Magnetic Core Storm? That’s a force of nature!]

Yun Qimu: “I’m not crazy. I’m just trying to buy us some time. Besides, you’ll protect me, right?”

Yun Qimu believed the mainframe wouldn’t let her die. If she could save a few more new residents, it was worth it.

“Pfft—” As she poured out her psychic power, blood gushed from her mouth, staining her white shirt crimson in an instant.

But her effort wasn’t in vain. The looming Magnetic Core Storm actually paused in midair for a split second. It was only a moment, but it was enough for Pei Yu, who was about to be overtaken, to escape death.

Pei Yu broke out in a cold sweat.

That was a real brush with death—he’d been a hair’s breadth from the gates of hell. The dashing, charming “little white dragon” with countless admirers had nearly met his end.

He gritted his teeth, his handsome face twisted with fear, not daring to relax for a second. In his mind, there was only one word left: Run. Run. Run.

The danger wasn’t over. Run!

ROAR—

At last, the storm broke through the psychic barrier. Amidst countless struggling beastly roars, the group was swept up by the wind and flung straight into Earth Village.

Papa Yun, at the very front, was the first to burst into Earth Village, carrying Yun Qimu.

As she breathed in the fresh, soothing air inside Earth Village—so different from the outside—Yun Qimu’s lips curled into a faint smile. Then her head lolled to the side, and she completely lost consciousness."
