Chapter 93: The Long-Awaited Lucky Badge
Big Boss Builds Infrastructure in the Interstellar Era
The mountain range wasn’t far from Earth Village—just a ten-minute walk from the village entrance brought you to the foot of the mountains.
“Meng Ji—”
“What’s that sound?”
Gou Miao and the others immediately gripped the weapons Yun Qimu had given them, swiftly moving to surround her, their eyes sharp and vigilant as they scanned their surroundings.
“Meng Ji—”
Everyone looked up and saw, not far away, a massive, fierce beast emerging on a snow-covered hill. Its entire body was snowy white, with markings on its forehead. It looked like a leopard, but much larger and more muscular.
It moved with agility, leaping down to the flat ground below in just a few bounds.
[Ding dong—New species Meng Ji discovered. Players, please defeat it promptly.]
As soon as the system prompt sounded, the Tengu tribespeople immediately realized this was the “mob” they were supposed to fight.
But this thing was way too big to be called a “mob.” There was nothing “small” about it—it should be called a “boss”!
The warriors, used to facing the threat of berserk beasts, didn’t panic. Their eyes were resolute as they watched the beast, its eyes glowing red, savoring the calm before the hunt, its massive claws padding toward them with a slow, almost graceful menace.
Gou Miao turned to Yun Qimu, whom they were protecting in the middle. “Chief Yun, what should we do? Do we attack?”
“Of course we attack.” Yun Qimu looked at the giant beast and smiled, giving them a tip. “When you fight it, unless you can kill it in one blow, a long health bar will appear above its head. Just whittle it down until there are only a few points left, then stop and let me finish it off.”
“Understood, Chief Yun.”
The ten Tengu warriors nodded obediently, eyes shining. It was their first time hearing about a beast with a health bar above its head—Earth Village’s monsters were really something else.
As they thought this, their expressions turned serious. With cold, ruthless efficiency, they grabbed their weapons and charged.
Awa, the Tengu tribe’s top warrior, was the strongest among them. His powerful, muscular legs carried him in a few strides right up to Meng Ji. Golden spiritual energy gathered in his hands, forming a massive golden fist as he swung upward, smashing it fiercely into Meng Ji’s jaw.
Caught off guard, Meng Ji’s head snapped back, and it let out a howl.
Looking up, sure enough—a long health bar appeared above its head.
950/1000
In other words, Awa’s signature move, the Golden Giant Fist, only took off one-twentieth of the beast’s health.
The Tengu warriors immediately grew serious. This “mob” was on par with an A-class berserk beast. Only Awa’s punch had managed to hurt it, and even then, not by much.
Meng Ji shook its stunned head, then opened its bloody maw and roared at Awa. Its tail, like a steel whip, lashed out, summoning a blizzard to attack him.
“Awa, dodge!”
Awa didn’t try to play the hero—he quickly retreated, making way for his fellow tribesmen.
Another warrior, just as burly as Awa, stepped up and smashed the swirling storm with a single punch.
The others spread out, surrounding Meng Ji and launching their own attacks.
Gou Miao stood on the outer edge, firing two shimmering blue water arrows at Meng Ji’s eyes from tricky angles.
“Meng Ji!” The beast roared again, its tail whipping away the water arrows and then lashing out at the people around it.
Seeing his first attack fail, the young and still somewhat inexperienced Gou Miao grew even more serious. He fired arrow after arrow, a rain of water arrows whistling through the air at Meng Ji. Even if they didn’t hit, they could at least serve as a distraction.
But fortune favors the persistent. Under the group assault, Meng Ji’s health bar began to drop rapidly. Blood stained its white fur, and finally, after its tail was slashed and slowed for a moment, it failed to block Gou Miao’s water arrow.
He seized the opportunity and struck true.
Meng Ji’s eyes glowed blood-red as it let out a terrible, piercing howl that made Wu Xingyu, Luke, and the others on their way over shudder involuntarily.
“Damn, looks like the fight’s already started up ahead.”
“That must be Chief Yun’s recruitment team.”
“Looks like a big one. Let’s go, let’s go—we need to hurry!”
Luke and the Qiong Whale tribe, weapons in hand, ran forward excitedly, quickly overtaking Wu Xingyu’s group just ahead of them.
Pei Yu couldn’t hold back either. His peach blossom eyes sparkled as he urged Mo Xie and Wu Xingyu to hurry up.
But usually the most eager to fight monsters and open treasure chests, Wu Xingyu now wore a blank face, walking at the same unhurried pace as before.
Had he just given up on fighting monsters altogether?
Well, it made sense. After all, anyone would be discouraged if they fought the most monsters, opened the fewest chests, and only got two or three spirit coins each time—especially when compared to the “lucky king” in their group. The contrast was brutal. The scene was too tragic to watch.
Pei Yu, thinking he was being considerate, fell silent for a second, then dashed ahead, calling out cheerfully in the cold wind, “I’ll go check things out up front!”
Back at the battle, Yun Qimu watched as the ten Tengu warriors wisely took advantage of Meng Ji’s weakened state, dodging its claws and tail while switching to ranged attacks for a relentless assault.
The melee fighters fell back to defend.
“Chief Yun—”
Seeing that Meng Ji’s health bar had dropped to just “10,” Gou Miao called out. Yun Qimu acted instantly, pulling out her golden axe and hurling it straight at Meng Ji’s head.
The last ten points of health vanished in a blink, and Meng Ji collapsed to the ground.
Snow continued to fall, covering the chaotic, blood-stained ground. The blood quickly seeped into the snow and disappeared, and Meng Ji’s body began to break apart, finally bursting with a “pop” into a silver treasure chest.
It was the same color as the ones dropped by the previous mini-bosses, Dang Hu and Snowfish.
Under the eager gazes of the Tengu warriors, Yun Qimu quickly walked over and opened the chest.
[Ding dong—Congratulations, player has obtained 1 pack of sweet potato seeds!]
[Ding dong—Congratulations, player has obtained 1 pack of onion seeds!]

[Ding dong—Congratulations, player has obtained 1 Defense Jade Pendant!]
A six-item drop in one go, and she even drew the Lucky Badge that Wu Xingyu had been longing for.
Yun Qimu raised her eyebrows—her luck was off the charts this time.
The Tengu warriors crowded around her, eyes shining, especially when they saw the huge rack of rib meat—it was as tall and wide as one of them, enough to feed them for an entire day.
Yun Qimu rubbed her chin thoughtfully. Maybe it was time to consider opening a butcher shop."
