Chapter 138: The Number One Clueless Man About Romance

Natural Disasters and the End of the World, She Went Crazy After Stocking Up on Supplies

Hou Jianming thought for a moment, then shook his head.

“The reason we let him move into the inner circle in the first place was because he promised to hand over a large amount of food every month. If we just get rid of him like that, wouldn’t we be losing a ton of supplies for nothing?”

He wanted the woman, but he wanted the food too.

He wasn’t about to give up either.

Zhu Dazhuang, however, frowned and reminded him, “Boss, if Gu Youcai has so many supplies, why would he want to join us? What if it’s a trick?”

But Hou Jianming was full of confidence.

“The more supplies someone has, the more they need the protection of a strong base. If he doesn’t join us, he’ll just end up getting robbed until he doesn’t even have his underwear left.”

Zhu Dazhuang nodded.

He trusted the boss’s judgment.

The two of them had started this base together because Hou Jianming was smart, and he himself was strong. Working together, they could actually make something of it.

He was good at fighting, but when it came to making decisions, he always listened to Hou Jianming.

He asked respectfully, “Boss, so what’s your plan next?”

What plan?

Hou Jianming’s eyes darted around, then he grinned and pulled Su Su over. “A wise man always has a clever plan.”

Then, with his arm around the woman’s waist, he started groping her as they walked into the villa.

Seeing this, Zhu Dazhuang didn’t ask any more questions. He simply wrapped his arm around another woman and headed back to his own villa.

Meanwhile, An Nan and Gu Zhiyu were walking back together.

Thinking of the ridiculous scene just now, An Nan couldn’t help but laugh. “President Gu, you’re something else—elbowing a beautiful woman like that.”

It was a once-in-a-lifetime sight.

She’d heard of Liu Xiahui sitting with a woman on his lap and not being tempted, but never of someone actually knocking a beauty to the ground.

Gu Zhiyu’s face was expressionless as he said coldly, “I’m not a gentleman. I don’t have any principle about not hitting women.”

In other words, whoever pisses me off, I’ll deal with them—man or woman.

An Nan raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Then why didn’t you hit me?”

She’d spread rumors about him and even twisted his arm. Wasn’t that way worse than a pretty girl hugging his neck?

Gu Zhiyu replied seriously, “I can’t beat you.”

An Nan burst out laughing. “Seriously?”

Back at the Longhu Base, she’d seen how well he could fight. Ordinary people couldn’t even get close to him.

She was instantly interested. “Brother Youcai, want to spar sometime?”

Gu Zhiyu nodded in agreement.

An Nan looked at him, remembering that shocking elbow strike just now, and couldn’t help but sigh, “That Su Su is really pitiful. You really are the number one clueless man about romance in the world.”

Gu Zhiyu’s face didn’t change. “I wouldn’t say that.”

An Nan was puzzled. “What do you mean?”

Gu Zhiyu pursed his lips. “When it comes to being clueless about romance, I’m definitely not number one.”

An Nan smacked her lips, unable to figure out what he meant.

After the way he treated that beauty, how could he not be number one? Who could possibly be more clueless than him?

Gu Zhiyu stared at her for a moment, then said nothing and kept walking.

An Nan’s attention was soon drawn by the men hurrying around them.

She saw them, faces flushed with excitement, dragging beautiful women home as fast as they could—some even starting to get handsy right there on the street.

She snorted, “In this heat, aren’t they worried about heatstroke?”

Letting their lower bodies control their brains.

Compared to them, Gu Zhiyu really was on a whole other level.

The two of them, plus the dog, soon arrived back at the villa.

It had been a day of fighting and traveling, and at the celebration banquet, neither of them had eaten a bite. By now, they were both pretty hungry.

Gu Zhiyu said to An Nan, “Let’s just go to my place. I’ve got frozen dumplings in the fridge.”

An Nan readily agreed.

Boiling dumplings was quick—dinner would be ready in no time.

Once inside, Fugui wiped his paws and hopped onto the sofa like he owned the place.

An Nan wiped her hands with a disinfectant wipe and was about to go cook the dumplings.

Gu Zhiyu stopped her. “You rest. I’ll cook.”

An Nan glanced at his arm.

Well, cooking dumplings didn’t really require much stirring.

So she agreed without hesitation.

She even asked curiously, “What brand of dumplings are they?”

Gu Zhiyu replied, “No brand. I made them myself and froze them.”

He’d had nothing to do at home before, so he’d made a bunch of dumplings to pass the time.

An Nan’s eyes lit up.

She’d been the one cooking these past few days—it was about time to taste Chef Gu’s skills again.

That tomato pasta he made was so good, she still couldn’t forget it.

Gu Zhiyu didn’t hide anything. He opened the fridge to get the dumplings, and An Nan saw that it was packed full of food.

If this stash was out on the street, people would fight to the death over it.

She couldn’t help but joke, “Flaunting your wealth like this—aren’t you afraid I’ll get greedy and rob you?”

Gu Zhiyu smiled. “If you want to eat, I’ll cook for you. Why would you need to kill me?”

An Nan thought about it and realized he had a point.

She sat on the sofa with the dog, watching Gu Zhiyu stand straight and focused at the stove.

She thought, if you didn’t know better, you’d think he was painting or something, not cooking.

He was just too good-looking—even cooking seemed like an art form.

Gu Zhiyu turned around with a plate and saw the girl and the dog curled up on the sofa, both staring at him.

He couldn’t help but laugh. “What are you two looking at?”

Both of them had the same intent, hungry gaze.

An Nan coughed and looked away.

The dumplings were soon on the table, and he even served a big bowl just for Fugui.

Steaming beef and onion dumplings, paired with a plate of refreshing salad.

An Nan couldn’t wait—she picked up a dumpling and took a bite.

The filling was juicy and flavorful, bursting in her mouth.

Her eyes lit up and she couldn’t help but praise him:

“Gu Zhiyu, how did you season the filling? It’s so good! And these are frozen—I can’t imagine how amazing they’d be fresh!”

Gu Zhiyu looked at the foodie in front of him, his eyes full of amusement.

It was hard to connect her with the cold-blooded, ruthless little demon king she’d been before.

This woman really had a thousand faces.

He said in a good mood, “Next time I’ll make them fresh for you.”

An Nan nodded and popped another one into her mouth.

Gu Zhiyu was infected by her enthusiasm and started eating with gusto too.

The two of them, chopsticks flying, quickly polished off all the dumplings.

Even the salad was wiped clean.

Full and satisfied, An Nan remembered what she’d seen at the Longhu Base earlier.

“Gu Zhiyu, did you notice Zhu Dazhuang’s skills?”

Gu Zhiyu thought for a moment, then replied, “He’s not weaker than you.”

An Nan nodded seriously. “Exactly.”

Not just “not weaker”—if she didn’t use her rifle or her teleport ability, she probably couldn’t beat him at all.

But Gu Zhiyu looked relaxed.

“No worries. Didn’t you say you were going to play dirty with him?”

The heavy atmosphere vanished, and An Nan burst out laughing. “That’s right!”

Who cares how strong he is? I’ll just outsmart him.

They chatted for a while longer before An Nan took the dog upstairs to rest.

The next morning, as soon as she got up, she heard a commotion downstairs.

She opened the curtains and saw people moving luggage into her villa.

It looked like there was a new tenant on the first floor."
