Chapter 160: Going Home

Natural Disasters and the End of the World, She Went Crazy After Stocking Up on Supplies

An Nan took the gun off her back and handed one over.

“These were indeed found at Hou Jianming’s place. One for each of us. And the handguns we collected before—we’ll split those evenly too.”

Gu Zhiyu glanced at her. “No need to give me one. You’re a girl, you need it more than I do.”

An Nan was genuinely shocked when she heard that.

Someone actually turning down a gun?

That’s way too noble! She could never do that herself.

But she was the type to be kind to the kind, and even harsher to the wicked. Seeing how generous he was, she couldn’t help but remember how she’d just pocketed so much stuff for herself.

She couldn’t easily bring out the supplies, and out of the six guns in the armory, she’d only given him this one—now he didn’t even want it, making her look like a selfish little hoarder.

So she simply handed it over. “Just take it. They’re all the same model—what am I going to do with so many?”

Gu Zhiyu seemed to think of something, suddenly interested. “Exactly the same?”

An Nan nodded. “Yep, exactly the same.”

He took it cheerfully. “Alright, one each.”

He slung it over his shoulder just like An Nan, then gave her a bright smile.

Seeing him grinning so happily, An Nan couldn’t help but wonder—why was this guy suddenly in such a good mood?

She lifted the box of bullets in her hand. “We’ll split the bullets too. I’ll find a small box for you when we go upstairs.”

She’d already sorted the bullets downstairs—there were rounds for both handguns and shotguns.

Gu Zhiyu nodded. “Let’s go, upstairs.”

As soon as they opened the door to the third floor, Fugui came barreling out, sniffing around them and barking with his mouth cocked to the side.

“Woof woof woof woof woof?!”

Why did you two go out alone without me?!

Gu Zhiyu looked at the barking dog, confused, and asked An Nan, “Why does it seem unhappy?”

An Nan replied, “Maybe because we went out fighting and didn’t take him?”

Gu Zhiyu: “He likes fighting that much?”

An Nan nodded. “My dog’s pretty competitive.”

Fugui: “Woof, woof woof woof!”

I mean, why did you two go out together without me!

An Nan crouched down and patted his head to comfort him. “Alright, alright, next time there’s a fight, you’ll be first up.”

Fugui’s tail drooped.

The greatest distance in the world is when I can understand you, but you can’t understand me!

Gu Zhiyu crouched down too, patting Fugui’s head. “You’ll be first in every fight from now on.”

Fugui: …

Thanks a lot!

He turned around and let out a fart at them, then went back to his little bed to lie down.

An Nan got up, found a small box, split the bullets with Gu Zhiyu, and started packing her things.

She didn’t have much in her room, so she finished quickly and began moving stuff downstairs with Gu Zhiyu.

Gu Zhiyu was carrying things and looked at An Nan, who was walking down the stairs with him.

“Why are you walking?”

An Nan gave him a look like he was an idiot. “If I don’t walk, am I supposed to crawl?”

Gu Zhiyu: “Why not just teleport?”

An Nan: …

So I’m the idiot here!

An Nan: “You’re right.”

She hefted her heavy luggage, blinked into her space, and the next second, appeared by the van downstairs.

Gu Zhiyu was mentally prepared this time, but still couldn’t help feeling amazed when she vanished into thin air.

He carried his things down slowly and saw An Nan had already loaded hers into the van.

“That superpower of yours is really handy.”

An Nan nodded in agreement. “No need for you to go back up, I’ll handle the rest.”

Gu Zhiyu said “Okay,” and simply stayed downstairs, taking things from An Nan and organizing them in the van.

Soon, they had everything packed.

An Nan picked up the dog and teleported downstairs one last time.

“Let’s go!”

Gu Zhiyu didn’t say anything, just looked up at the house they’d lived in for half a month.

An Nan smiled. “You look like you’re a bit reluctant to leave?”

Gu Zhiyu glanced down at her without replying.

The Wuling minivan had been sitting unused for a while, and with the high temperatures, the air inside was pretty bad. An Nan rolled down all the windows, then smiled and said goodbye to Gu Zhiyu.

“Gu Zhiyu, it’s been a pleasure working with you. Until next time!”

Gu Zhiyu pressed his lips together, silent for two seconds before replying, “Until next time.”

An Nan suddenly remembered all the supplies she’d kept for herself and added, “Let’s get together again sometime!”

Gu Zhiyu thought she was just being polite. He opened his mouth to say something else, but An Nan had already started the engine and drove off, humming a tune.

She was in a great mood—mission accomplished, tons of supplies gained, and she couldn’t wait to get home.

She wondered how Laifu was doing, and if Sister Peipei and Zhao Ping’an had managed to keep the house safe.

Meanwhile, Fugui in the passenger seat seemed a bit restless, sticking his head out the window and barking a few times.

Gu Zhiyu watched the van disappear into the distance and snorted softly. “Dogs are more loyal than people.”

Then he got in his own car.

An Nan drove the little van straight to the base gates.

Ma Qiangzhuang was on duty again today. An Nan suddenly remembered her promise to him and hit the brakes.

Ma Qiangzhuang saw An Nan through the open window and hurried over, bending down to greet her.

“Heading out, miss?”

An Nan smiled and said directly, “Brother Ma, didn’t you want to move into the inner circle? Go ahead.”

Ma Qiangzhuang was overjoyed. “The boss agreed?”

An Nan smirked. “He doesn’t really have a choice.”

With that, she stepped on the gas and drove off.

Ma Qiangzhuang stared after her, baffled. What did that mean?

But he quickly came to his senses and ran off toward the inner villas.

At dawn, An Nan finally got back near her neighborhood, found a secluded spot, and stashed both the van and the supplies into her space.

As she walked toward her building, she saw a crowd gathered at the entrance.

The weather had cooled down a lot lately, so people had the energy to gather outside and watch the commotion.

Or maybe, the survivors had finally gotten somewhat used to the heat.

An Nan stood at the back and casually asked someone, “What’s going on?”

The person didn’t even turn around. “What else? That woman from the thirteenth floor is making a scene again!”

Another chimed in, “Yeah, if the She-Devil were here, would she dare act up like this?”

He glanced back casually as he spoke, then his eyes widened. “Sh-she-devil?!”

An Nan frowned. “She-devil, she-devil—watch your mouth!”

The people nearby heard him and all turned to look at her.

“It really is the She-Devil!”

“Run! Run!”

The crowd scattered in an instant, vanishing in a flash.

An Nan: …

Am I really that scary?"
