Chapter 170: Pooping Anywhere
Natural Disasters and the End of the World, She Went Crazy After Stocking Up on Supplies
Hu Cuilan explained, “Don’t worry, this poison isn’t fatal. It’s just an itching agent. Once it’s digested and absorbed, it’ll wear off on its own.”
Li Guifen breathed a huge sigh of relief when she heard this.
But Zhang Xiaobao looked up and protested, “What? It’s not fatal? Why didn’t you say so earlier! We were kneeling and kowtowing for nothing!”
Li Guifen quickly cut him off. “Xiaobao! Shut your mouth!”
They were still within range of the other party’s weapons—how could this kid still not watch his tongue?
Sure enough, from inside the door, Hu Cuilan let out a cold laugh. “You want something fatal? Fine, I can give it to you right now!”
Immediately after, the two of them heard the sound of a crossbow being cocked from inside.
Li Guifen hurriedly kowtowed several times. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I haven’t raised him right!”
Zhang Xiaobao realized his mistake and quickly apologized as well. “Auntie, I’m sorry! Please spare me!”
Hu Cuilan snorted. “We’ve got plenty of weapons and poison at home. If you dare act up again, I’ll let you try them all, one by one!”
Li Guifen pleaded, “Don’t worry, elder sister. We’ll never come bother you again.”
Zhang Xiaobao nodded like a pecking chicken. “From now on, if I see you or Brother Zhao, I’ll go the other way!”
Hu Cuilan: “Get lost!”
Mother and son felt as if they’d been granted amnesty. They scrambled to their feet and hurried away.
Apartment 1402.
An Nan sat at her computer desk with a cup of coffee, watching the surveillance footage of the mother and son fleeing downstairs. She couldn’t help but curl her lips in amusement.
The surveillance system had audio, and since she was home with nothing to do, she’d listened to the entire conversation in the hallway and now knew exactly what had happened.
She took a sip of coffee and chuckled softly.
Aunt Hu really was something—she’d tamed those two in no time.
That mother and son thought they’d survived a brush with death, but little did they know, itching is even harder to endure than pain.
Just as An Nan expected, the following days were utter torment for Li Guifen and Zhang Xiaobao.
Day and night, their bodies itched unbearably, and the more they scratched, the worse it got.
They scratched themselves bloody, but it didn’t relieve the itch at all. It was so bad they couldn’t sleep.
The wounds were even worse—painful and itchy at the same time, forcing them to scratch unconsciously, which kept the sores from healing.
One of the wounds was on their buttocks, so they couldn’t sit or lie down—only stand or lie face-down.
Within a few days, both of them had dark circles under their eyes.
Li Guifen, who was already skin and bones, looked like she’d fall over in a breeze, and even the chubby Zhang Xiaobao had lost a lot of weight.
They suffered like this for a whole week before the itching finally began to subside.
But their troubles weren’t over.
While they were tormented by the itching, they hadn’t cared about eating, but now that they finally felt a little better and had their appetite back, they discovered their food stores were nearly gone.
Li Guifen counted on her fingers and realized they only had enough biscuits left for another three to five days.
Desperate, she had no choice but to go to the 14th floor to look for Chu Peipei.
But this time, she was truly afraid of these “living devils” in the building. She didn’t dare make a scene—she only dared to knock softly and politely.
As she knocked, she begged and cried for Chu Peipei not to let them starve.
But her once-docile daughter-in-law seemed to have made up her mind this time. No matter what, she refused to help and didn’t even show her face.
Li Guifen knocked on the door for days, but got nothing.
The only response she got was: “If you have time to bother me, you could’ve found supplies yourself by now. Did everyone else starve to death because they didn’t rely on me?”
After that, there was only silence.
After the last unanswered knock, Li Guifen finally made up her mind to take her son out to look for food. If they stayed like this, they really would starve to death.
But she was still furious.
Back when her eldest son Jiadong wanted to marry Chu Peipei, she’d objected—she’d always thought this woman wasn’t good enough for her son.
Later, when she wanted her to bear a child for Xiaobao, Chu Peipei had acted all high and mighty and refused.
Now, just because she had some supplies, she was leaving her mother-in-law out in the cold, not even showing her face!
People say mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law are natural enemies, but in her opinion, Chu Peipei was more than just an enemy—she was a curse on the family!
The more Li Guifen thought about it, the angrier she got. Before leaving, she furiously pulled down her pants…
And took a dump right in front of the door.
Pooping is pooping, no matter where you do it. If she did it at home, she’d have to clean it up, so she might as well vent her anger this way.
Hmph! You little tramp, if I can’t get to you, I’ll at least disgust you!
She pulled up her pants, cursed under her breath, and stomped downstairs.
Inside the apartment, An Nan was lounging on the sofa, cuddling Fugui and watching a movie.
Suddenly, the dog wriggled out of her arms and ran to the entryway, baring its teeth and growling.
Laifu followed, shaking its head and staring at the door with big, round eyes.
An Nan stood up in surprise.
Li Guifen had been coming to knock on the door these past few days, but she’d been quiet and hadn’t made a fuss, so An Nan had ignored her, and the dogs had gotten used to it.
Why were the dogs suddenly so agitated today?
She thought for a moment, then walked over to the computer to check the surveillance footage.
All she saw was Li Guifen pulling up her pants and heading downstairs.
She frowned. What was so exciting about that?
Wait… why was she pulling up her pants?
An Nan clicked on the surveillance playback.
One look, and her eyes nearly popped out of her head.
That old hag actually took a shit at her door???
No wonder Fugui was so agitated! Dogs are most sensitive to smells.
How shameless could a person get!
Fuming, An Nan stormed out of her apartment.
Meanwhile, Li Guifen had planned to take Zhang Xiaobao with her to look for food, but he flatly refused, preferring to sleep in.
Helpless, the old woman set out alone.
But as soon as she stepped out, An Nan caught up with her and punched her to the ground.
Li Guifen clutched her face in shock. “How can you just hit people like that, young lady?”
“Just hit people?” An Nan laughed angrily. “You took a shit at my door, and that’s not ‘just’ anything?”
Li Guifen instinctively shrank back, feeling guilty.
Then she started her usual routine of making a scene. “Do you have proof? How can you say it was me?”
An Nan couldn’t be bothered to explain about surveillance cameras. She simply started raining punches and kicks down on her.
“I don’t care who did it! Today I’m beating you up! Don’t like it? Too bad!”
After a thorough beating, there wasn’t a single spot on Li Guifen that didn’t hurt.
Before she could even catch her breath, An Nan grabbed her by the neck and dragged her to the door of apartment 1402.
She kicked her to the ground and pointed at the pile of shit.
“Eat it. All of it!”
Li Guifen, gasping for air, lay on the ground, gulping in the air she’d nearly lost.
A few seconds later, she finally realized what was happening and shouted in disbelief,
“Eat what? Are you crazy?!”"
