Chapter 113: The Baboon's Dungeon (Part 4)
Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse
When Yu and R Siyu returned to the river, what they saw was a group of people gathered around a stone table, sipping milkfruit and chatting.
R Yaru looked anxiously at her father. “Dad, how do you feel?”
R Jian scratched his head and replied, “I just feel a warm sensation in my stomach. Nothing particularly special.”
R Siyu walked over to his own fruit and took a sip, smacking his lips as he exclaimed, “This milkfruit is delicious! So sweet and refreshing, and there’s no weird milky aftertaste at all!”
R Yaru couldn’t help but give him a light smack on the back of his head. “Is this really the time for you to be taste-testing?”
R Siyu pouted, then immediately protested, “But it’s true! If you don’t believe me, try it yourself—it’s really good! There’s nothing special about it, it’s just tasty!”
As he spoke, he brought the milkfruit in his hand to his sister’s mouth and poured some in. The silky juice slid down her throat, and a warm current slowly flowed into her stomach.
It was just as her brother said—there was only a gentle warmth.
But gradually, she realized that the warmth was spreading to some strange places in her body, and the energy she’d used up earlier to accelerate the growth of those plants was suddenly fully restored.
She looked at her brother in shock, only to see him grinning smugly. “See? Tastes great, right?”
R Yaru couldn’t hold back anymore. She grabbed R Siyu’s head and gave it a good rub. “I told you to drink it, not to pour it all into my mouth! Are you silly or what?”
“Well, I didn’t feel anything special when I drank it. What about you? How do you feel now?”
R Siyu didn’t mind his sister messing up his hair at all. He looked at her curiously, and everyone else who had finished drinking or hadn’t tried it yet also looked her way.
R Yaru was silent for a moment, then organized her thoughts and said, “This stuff is really effective for ability users. I only took one sip, and I could feel all my energy coming back!”
R Siyu’s jaw dropped. “That’s amazing! I should’ve saved more for you! What a waste!”
R Yaru was both anxious and amused, but seeing her little brother’s concern warmed her heart. Helplessly, she gently smoothed his messy hair.
“You!”
R Siyu grinned goofily, earning himself another playful rub from R Yaru.
Sang Chu, seeing this, felt that the atmosphere was just right. “Alright, everyone, let’s get ready for lunch. We’ll use the milkfruit to make something tasty for everyone to try.”
Gao Zhe patted his chest and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll cook it with that wild pheasant we caught! It’ll be delicious!”
That wild pheasant would pair perfectly with the milkfruit!
Sang Chu thought for a moment, then looked at R Yaru. “Yaru, since your energy is restored, could you help speed up the growth of some rice in the greenhouse? We don’t need much, just enough for everyone to have a taste today.”
“Sure thing, Sister Sang! I’ll go right now!”
R Siyu quickly raised his hand. “Sister Sang, I’ll go with my sister!”
“Alright, go ahead. There’s a dryer and a rice mill nearby—it’s all very convenient.”
Xia Ru, Xia Han, and Gao Qiu chimed in, “Since you’re going, we’ll come too. Many hands make light work!”
The lively discussion made the whole dungeon feel vibrant and alive.
Sang Chu nodded. “Alright, go ahead, just be careful not to step on any crops in the fields.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll be careful!”
Watching the group leave, laughing and chatting, Sang Chu couldn’t help but smile. Gao Zhe handed a milkfruit to his wife. “A Chu, I’ll go help out in the kitchen.”
“Alright, thanks for your hard work.”
“No trouble at all, it’s my job! Once the food’s ready, I’ll call you and Qiu over.”
“Okay, sounds good.”
After everyone left, Lu Min looked at the small flowers blooming around the milkfruit vines. “A Chu, these must be the companion flowers, right? What do you plan to do?”
“Contract them.”
Sang Jingwen asked, “Sang Sang, are you confident?”
Sang Chu replied calmly, “Don’t worry, I’m confident. I’ll handle it.”
Sang Chu walked over to the small flowers, released her wood-type spiritual power, and after circling around, finally found the companion beast sleeping inside one of the flowers.
It had tiny limbs and a small flower blooming on its head, sleeping soundly. Sang Chu couldn’t help but smile at its deceptively cute appearance. Then, she bit her finger and let a drop of blood fall onto it.
The soul-devouring flower beast, still asleep, instinctively smacked its lips and drank Sang Chu’s blood, even sniffing around for more before rolling over and going back to sleep, radiating a faint aura of power.
Sang Chu smiled, amused by how defenseless the little creature was.
This type of companion beast could be dangerous if subdued by force, but using a blood contract was much safer. Once it awakened spiritually, it would recognize the person who used their blood as its parent, making it more loyal than if it were tamed by force.
When Sang Chu walked back, Sang Jingwen asked with some concern, “Little Sis, how did it go?”
“It’s done, don’t worry, Brother.”
Then she noticed Aunt Xiuying standing quietly to the side and looked at her. “Auntie, what do you think about the thing we discussed before?”
“Can I really do it?” Xiuying was a bit nervous. Although Sang Chu had said her ability could evolve, what if it didn’t work?
Sang Chu said, “Auntie, we’ll probably be staying underground for a while, so I wanted to take this opportunity to help everyone improve. Don’t worry, I trust you.”
She had previously asked Xiuying to use her psychic ability to help everyone train. As long as they could find the weak points in their mental strength, they wouldn’t be helpless if they encountered psychic ability users in the future.
Yi Ping walked over and said, “Auntie, don’t worry, just use your ability.”
Sang Jingwen added, “Auntie, we’re all ready. Who knows how many psychic ability users are out there? Right now, you’re the only high-level psychic among us, so you’re the only one who can help.”
Xiuying hesitated, then said, “Alright, but if there’s any danger, I’ll stop immediately. Is that okay?”
Sang Chu smiled and nodded. “Of course. This is just training, not a life-or-death battle. Auntie, I’ll go get everyone ready!”
“Alright.”"
