Chapter 135: Magic University—Big and Small
Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

Walking down the street, all around them were houses built of stone, their pointed roofs adorned with all sorts of unique, colorful flags fluttering in the wind.
On the way to the Magic University, Su Ye was lost in thought. As they were about to enter, Nana suddenly grabbed the clothes on Sang Chu’s shoulder, her hand trembling slightly. “Sang Chu, I—I don’t want to go in.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Can you walk with me?”
Mu Xue walked beside Sang Chu, unconsciously looping her arm through hers. “Sang Sang, I don’t have a good feeling about this university.”
Lu Minli frowned slightly. “But it’s not really an option for you to just follow me around, is it?”
Along the way, he’d already noticed many people’s gazes lingering on him, and he felt those looks were dangerous.
Tu You glanced at the group, then at Sang Chu, and said in her mind: [Why don’t you form a contract with her? She’s a native of the Magic University, so you can contract her. Try looking for a magic shop to see if they sell contract cards. All you need to do is buy one, drip a bit of her blood on it, and you can contract a magic native. You can then store her in the card—very convenient.]
[Alright, then you pick out a general-use contract card from the Magic University, and get a few more if possible.]
Tu You: [There’s a limit to the number of contract slots at the Magic University—each person can only have a hundred. If you want more, you’ll have to spend extra magic crystals. It’s expensive!]
Sang Chu hadn’t expected that even Qin Simian couldn’t get around this restriction?
Before, even demon pearls could be contracted, but here there was a limit?
[Why is that?]
Tu You replied honestly: [I don’t know, that’s just what my system tells me. The Magic University is very special. You can contract on the spot, but at most three times. After three times, it’s not allowed anymore—the contract will be erased!]
[Is there a limit to how many people can use a contract card?]
[That’s not restricted, but there are level requirements. The higher the level, the more expensive it is, and each person must have their own.]
Sang Chu nodded: [Alright, we’ll need them. You go check it out first—everyone needs one. I’ll go find a place to stay.]
Tu You nodded and immediately set off.
Sang Chu looked at the people around them, all eyeing them like wolves, and didn’t want to bother with them: “I’ll go find a place to stay first.”
Yi Ping: “But I…”
Sang Jingwen: “Alright, let’s find a place to stay first.”
Yi Ping was cut off. He wanted to say something, but since the others weren’t in a hurry, he could only follow along.
Sang Chu was still carrying Nana on her back. Nana was so light she barely weighed anything, so it wasn’t a big deal to carry her the whole time.
The inn was not far from the university—a Gothic-style building, its exterior carved with all sorts of strange magical beasts and runes, giving it an imposing and mysterious look.
The main doors were wide open, and Sang Chu was the first to walk in.
“Excuse me, I’d like a room.”
Hearing Sang Chu’s voice, the innkeeper, who had been dozing off, stood up. He looked to be about fifty, tall—at least 1.9 meters—with deep-set brown eyes that shone with intelligence. He wore a deep purple robe embroidered with golden, mysterious runes.
Seeing that the group wasn’t wearing mage robes, and that the woman in front was carrying a pretty little girl on her back, he kindly reminded them, “Are you guests from out of town? Why aren’t you wearing mage robes?”
Sang Chu’s heart skipped a beat, suddenly remembering the special clothing she’d seen on the sales list, and she quickly asked Tu You to prepare it for her.
On the surface, Sang Chu maintained a calm smile and looked at the innkeeper. “It’s in my storage ring. I was planning to tidy up before putting it on. We just came from the wild, so I didn’t wear it.”
The innkeeper didn’t press further. “That’s fine. Would the guests like to purchase any supplies?”
Sang Chu nodded. “Of course, but I’m not sure about the prices here…”
“Don’t worry, we’ll give you a fair price. May I see your magic crystal card?”
Sang Chu took out her card from her storage space. Tu You, squatting on her shoulder, grumbled: [Thank goodness you remembered! That sales list is such a rip-off—why didn’t it mention mage robes?]
[It’s for making money, obviously!]
Sang Chu couldn’t help but complain. She’d already noticed that although the inventory seemed to offer a lot, there were plenty of hidden traps. If you weren’t careful, you’d fall for them! She’d thought she’d already bought all the essentials, but outside the top 100 items, she’d only bought the most popular ones. Who would have thought that the real life-saving item was this robe!
The magic crystal card was decorated with a blooming rose. The innkeeper’s expression changed when he saw it. He’d thought she was just a regular guest, but upon seeing the rose-emblazoned card, he immediately became respectful.
He placed his right hand on his left shoulder and bowed to Sang Chu. “Honored Your Highness, welcome. May I ask how many rooms you’ll need?”
Sang Chu said, “I only have a hundred magic crystals left on this card. Is that enough for a single room?”
Neither Sang Chu nor Tu You were clear about the general prices at the Magic University, so she had no idea whether a hundred crystals was a lot or a little!
The innkeeper took the card and, seeing there were only a hundred crystals left, looked at her intently. “Your Highness, our place is small, so you won’t need that many. For your party of five, plus your little companion, that’s five or six rooms?”
Nana was still clutching Sang Chu tightly, making her meaning clear.
Sang Chu said, “Five rooms.”
Mu Xue suddenly came over. “Sang Sang, I don’t want to sleep alone.”
Usually it was fine, but in this unfamiliar place, she really didn’t want to be alone in a room. Just thinking about it was scary.
Sang Jingwen, Yi Ping, and Lu Minli all looked at each other.
Then, in unison, they said, “The three of us will share a room. Old Rabbit can sleep in the hallway!”
The innkeeper asked, “Miss, would you like to stay together?”
Sang Chu replied, “Yes, please arrange it as you see fit.”
“Very well, I’ll arrange a family suite for Your Highness—five bedrooms, with a living area and a lounge. The price will be a bit higher than regular rooms.”
“No problem. Give me the keys first, and send the supplies up. Just charge everything to this card.”
The innkeeper glanced at Sang Chu’s storage ring. Although it was different from the ones used locally, seeing that her crystal card was a Rose City royal card, he didn’t dare say more.
“Of course, Your Highness. That will be one thousand crystal shards. I’ll process it right away!”
When they heard the price of one thousand, both Sang Chu and Tu You tensed up, but it turned out to be crystal shards, not full crystals!
A thousand crystal shards wasn’t even one full crystal. No wonder Qin Simian said there was a limit—if not, they’d have been fleeced by these black-hearted merchants!
They were then led by the young butler to their rooms.
Once the door was closed, they finally felt a sense of security.
The butler looked about twenty, handsome and dressed like an ordinary person. He stood respectfully at the door. “Your Highness, this is your suite. I’ll be right outside—if you need anything, just call. If you don’t want cleaning or company, you can activate the privacy rune and the room’s magic will take effect, putting everyone into a deep sleep. If you’d like company, just use the rain spell to call me.”
“Alright, I understand. Thank you.”"
