Chapter 136: The Great Mage—Nana’s X
Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse
As soon as they entered the room, they saw a group of people chattering non-stop, while the others sat quietly in the corners. Only the ones who had come in with them kept talking endlessly: “Your Highness, esteemed Your Highness, do you really not need a little companion to chat with every day? Don’t you need one? Are you sure you don’t need one?”
“Your Highness, can you tell me about Rose City?”
“Yes, yes! I really want to know!”
“I heard Rose City is huge and beautiful, esteemed Your Highness, please tell us about it!”
Everyone was talking over each other, but Sang Chu remained silent. Eventually, those people just started chatting among themselves.
Sang Chu glanced at T_ and the others sitting in the corner, lost in her own thoughts, and hurriedly sent a message.
In an instant, the entire room seemed to lose its vitality.
Mu Xue’s eyes widened, but she didn’t dare say anything. She could only send a short message to everyone with her mind: [@Magic is so amazing! @Can we bring these things back to the apocalypse?]
Sang Chu: [Probably. Everyone, take a break for now. Once the old butler finishes dealing with those mages, we’ll go shopping. Try on these clothes for now.]
As she spoke, Sang Chu handed out a set of mage robes to each person: “We can’t wear our old clothes anymore. From now on, let’s wear these.”
Sang Chu was worried that there might be spies among the things in the house, so she didn’t dare say much.
Luckily, even the usually blunt Yi Ping knew to be careful with her words, and gave Sang Chu a grateful look.
Mu Xue: [By the way, don’t you all find it strange? This place is called Rose Town, but we haven’t seen a single flower along the way?]
Sang Chu nodded, sat down on the sofa, and put her communicator away: [It is a bit odd.]
After replying to Mu Xue, she turned to Nana and asked, “Nana, do you want me to take you home?”
Nana shook her head: “I don’t have a home anymore. Once someone leaves the sea region, everyone forgets about that place. I can never go back.”
Nana lowered her head in disappointment, her eyes brimming with tears. Mu Xue and Yi Ping quietly wiped away the tears that fell from her eyes. The pearls that should have appeared when mermaids cried didn’t show up this time—perhaps because she was too sad.
Sang Jingwen and Lu Minliang exchanged a glance and went to check out the rooms.
There were five guest rooms in total: one large master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, one study, three regular bedrooms, and a living room. It looked pretty nice, almost like a family suite.
Sang Jingwen opened all the doors: “How are we going to arrange the rooms?”
Seeing Nana crying, Sang Chu just patted her on the shoulder and stood up: “Let’s all take turns keeping watch at night. Leave the doors open, and whoever is on watch can stay in the living room. Sound good?”
With five rooms, you could see the living room sofa from each one.
Sang Jingwen said, “Then for tonight, I’ll take the first half of the night with Sang Sang, and Minliang and Ah Yi can take the second half. Is that okay?”
Yi Ping: “I’m fine with anything.”
Lu Minliang: “Works for me.”
Mu Xue looked at them and sighed, “So that means I get to sleep through the whole night.”
“Alright then, everyone can rest for now. I’ll see if there’s anything to eat and bring it over.”
Sang Chu glanced at Yi Ping and Lu Minliang. Since they were on duty for the second half of the night, it was best for them to rest now.
Lu Minliang: “I’ll go rest for a bit. Call me when it’s time to eat.”
Yi Ping: “Alright, I’ll go nap too.”
Sang Jingwen looked at Nana, then at Sang Chu, and said, “I’ll go lie down too. You take care of her.”
“Okay, go rest, big brother.”
Nana collected herself, and when she looked up, her eyes were still red: “Sang Chu, I… I want to follow you. Is that okay?”
“I… I have water magic.”
To prove her worth, she tried hard to gather a water ball and showed it to Sang Chu: “Look, Sang Chu.”
“I can take you in, but I don’t have any contract cards on me right now. We’ll have to check the magic shop tomorrow to see if they sell any. In the meantime, you can think it over.”
“I want to follow you.”
Nana’s determination was clear in her eyes. Ever since Sang Chu had rescued her, she had already decided to follow her.
Mu Xue, watching from the side, couldn’t help but say, “Nana, there’s no rush. Like Sang Sang said, think it over first. There’s plenty of time. Do you want Sang Sang to carry you back to your room to rest? Your… your wound is still bleeding…”
She was still bleeding, but since she wasn’t human, if they exposed her healing ability, it might be dangerous.
Although nothing bad had happened yet, Mu Xue felt like something was lurking in the shadows, watching them, and it made her uneasy.
Nana looked at Sang Chu: “Can Sang Sang come with me?”
“Xiao Xue can go with you. I have something to discuss with the butler and need to wait here for the old man.”
Sang Chu knew Nana was still feeling emotional, but she couldn’t keep her company all the time—she had plenty of her own things to deal with.
She needed to see if there was any way out of this place, and there were a lot of things she needed to buy. She only had a hundred crystals left, and she didn’t know how much the things she’d picked up were worth.
Nana looked at Sang Chu, then at Mu Xue: “Is that okay?”
Mu Xue smiled: “Of course! I’ll go with you. Sang Sang, you go do your thing.”
“Okay.”
Nana smiled through her tears, and only then did Sang Chu go over and pick her up: “Don’t worry, rest for now. I’ll see if there’s anything to treat your wound. You lie down first.”
As soon as they got to the room, Nana immediately grabbed Sang Chu’s arm: “Don’t go to that hospital. It’s dangerous—really dangerous!”
Sang Chu: “Did you sense something?”
Nana shook her head: “It’s just a feeling. I don’t know why, but I really don’t want to go there. My instincts are telling me it’s a place of death.”
Mu Xue: “I feel the same way. Sang Sang, should I stay with her?”
Sang Chu comforted them: “It’s fine. As long as I don’t cause trouble, nothing major will happen. You two rest here. I’m going to find the butler.”
After putting Nana down, Sang Chu sent her a message: [I’m leaving Tu You here to watch over you. I’ll be out for a bit, so be careful.]
[You be careful too.]
After leaving the room, Sang Chu saw Lu Minliang and Sang Jingwen coming out as well. She sent a quick message: [Why aren’t you resting?]
[I’m heading out for a bit. Tu You is staying behind. If anything happens, let me know.]
Sang Jingwen: [Be careful.]
Lu Minliang: [Take care.]
Sang Chu: [Okay, you too.]
After that, she opened the door. The butler was waiting at the entrance, and when he saw Sang Chu, he smiled and said, “Your Highness, what can I do for you?”"
