Chapter 14: Life in the Armpit ≤

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

“How amazing! There really are other worlds?”

After hearing Sang Chu explain about the mutated world and the parallel universes, Lin Muxue felt that this world was truly fantastical! If Sang Chu hadn’t actually taken out some strange things and given them to her, she wouldn’t have believed a single word!

Tu You, the little rabbit, crouched curiously on Sang Chu’s shoulder: [Why didn’t you tell her you’re a transmigrator?]

Sang Chu smiled, watching Lin Muxue wolfing down food, and replied:

[I don’t want to test human nature. Compared to telling her I transmigrated here because I was forced to, I’d rather just say I don’t know why I came. Anyway, I’ll give her whatever I have, so there’s no need to split hairs.]

Tu You didn’t really understand what she was thinking, but since his host had already decided, he had nothing more to say.

Sang Chu said, “Eat slowly, there’s plenty, no one’s going to fight you for it.” She handed Lin Muxue a handkerchief.

“It’s just that I haven’t eaten properly in so long! It’s all that damned Wang Feng’s fault, giving us all sorts of weird stuff. I haven’t had real food in ages!”

“Sang Sang, let me tell you, there’s something off about Wang Feng. You remember where you and I were hiding, right? I beat him to a pulp, but somehow he was still bouncing around alive!”

As she spoke, she grabbed a tomato and stuffed it into her mouth. “So tasty! I haven’t had fresh food in so long! You have no idea how shocked he looked when Lu Minli and I were running away. That guy is scary—he literally came back from the dead!”

“Came back from the dead?”

“Yeah. He died and then revived, and it looked like he wasn’t affected at all. Plus, his powers seem even scarier now!”

Listening to Muxue, Sang Chu thought of her own awakened abilities and couldn’t help feeling a bit afraid. She suspected that she wasn’t the only one to awaken powers after the apocalypse—Wang Feng must have awakened some strange ability too. Luckily, he hadn’t used it when he set the place on fire, or she might not have escaped.

“Don’t overthink it. For now, we’ve escaped, so there’s no need to worry about him. Do you want some meat? I can roast some for you.”

“Meat?!” Lin Muxue’s eyes widened. Her originally dull, dusty eyes now sparkled like a little deer’s.

Sang Chu smiled. “Yes, I bought a lot. Go check on Lu Minli, I’ll roast the meat for you. If he’s okay, tell him to come find me in the dining room.”

Don’t be fooled by the small size of the armpit ≤—there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye.

Sang Chu went to the kitchen, took out all the chicken and beef she’d bought, conjured a handy knife, and started prepping the meat.

After she finished, she took out an old-fashioned water tank, attached it to the armpit ≤’s built-in water system, and turned on the tap. Water flowed out.

When Muxue and Lu Minli walked in and saw this, their jaws dropped!

On the way over, Muxue had already explained the situation here to Lu Minli. Although he’d accepted this magical reality, when Muxue saw that the armpit ≤ could actually produce water, she instantly abandoned Lu Minli and ran over to Sang Chu.

“Sang, this water is drinkable, right? It is, isn’t it?!”

Neither she nor Sang Chu were water-type ability users, so drinking water was a luxury. Plus, that bastard Wang Feng was always afraid they’d stash food, so whenever they were distributing supplies, at least three people would watch them.

She and Sang Chu had always been extremely careful when sneaking food, only daring to steal a little bit at a time. But now, not only was there food, there was water!!!

Life was just too good!

Muxue was so excited she went straight to the tap to drink, but Sang Chu quickly stopped her. “This old water tank has a filter inside, wait a moment.”

After washing her hands, Sang Chu took out a new energy water tank, attached it to another tap, pressed the button, and filled a cup for Muxue.

“Here, drink this.”

“Mm!” Muxue eagerly grabbed the cup and gulped it down.

Sang Chu then took out a spatial storage device and handed one each to Lu Minli and Muxue.

“This is a spatial storage ring. You can customize its compartments however you like. I’ve already labeled everything inside. The water from the new energy tank is clean, so from now on, you can just fill up here and drink directly. There’s also a light brain—you can try it out, it’s about as easy to use as a smartphone.”

Sang Chu handed the light brain to Muxue, and Lu Minli, not standing on ceremony, followed Sang Chu’s instructions and started figuring things out on his own.

Muxue looked at Sang Chu with admiration. “Sang Sang, you really went to outer space, didn’t you?!”

Sang Chu explained, “I’m not sure myself. I only stayed there for a month, and spent every day surviving in the wild. I bought all this stuff there.”

Lu Minli looked at the supplies in his own storage ring. “Thank you.”

He knew he was only benefiting because of Muxue, but in the apocalypse, he didn’t want to be too polite.

“No need to thank me. I should thank you for protecting Muxue and helping her escape!”

Lin Muxue threw an arm around Lu Minli’s shoulders and grinned. “See? This is my Sang Sang—super loyal! I’ll stick with you forever!”

“Alright, you used to protect me, now I’ll protect you!”

Lin Muxue didn’t hold back, running over to Sang Chu and giving her a big hug. “You really are my sugar mama! Finally, I can live a life of eating and waiting to die. It hasn’t been easy!”

With that, she plopped into a chair, grabbed some grapes, and started popping them into her mouth one by one.

“Sang Xiaochu, hurry up! Your lady is hungry and wants meat!”

Seeing her so carefree, Lu Minli laughed. “Let me help. Is this similar to the barbecue grills we used before?”

“Pretty much. I’ll handle the meat, you get the grill ready. This one has a screen.”

Lin Muxue didn’t care at all about Sang Chu’s teasing. She even tossed her a grape. “How can you call me a freeloader? You’re so young and charming—how could I ever tire of you?”

Muxue shot her a playful glare, while Lu Minli had already set up the grill. He took the meat from Sang Chu, started the fire, and took out a white, stone-like thing to begin cooking.

Muxue, curious, leaned over the table. “What’s this? Why does it look like a rock?”

Sang Chu replied, “It’s a high-temperature-resistant material, something from the mutated world. Everything there is related to light and energy stones.”

“No wonder. It looks weird, but as long as it works, who cares.”

As soon as she finished speaking, her stomach growled loudly, making it impossible to ignore.

“Eat some other food first, your meat will be ready soon!”

Lu Minli said, and quickly took out some cooked meat, sprinkled it with seasoning, and handed it to Muxue.

As soon as she smelled the meat, she didn’t hesitate to take a big bite.

“This is so good! So tender!”

She immediately picked up a piece and stuffed it into Sang Chu’s mouth. “See? Isn’t it delicious?”

“Mutated animal meat is more tender than regular meat. Eat more. I’ll make more. Lu Minli, you should eat too.”

“Alright.”"
