Chapter 60: The Demon Realm - I | West 3

Picking Up Trash in Another World and Bringing It Back to the Apocalypse

The big tiger didn’t understand why this woman didn’t know her place. He could see that the fox was a trickster, but he only dared to quietly remind her—yet she just went straight up and confronted him.

But this was the head of the Fire Fox clan, the Nine-Tailed Fire Fox, someone so powerful that even the Demon Lord didn’t faze her. For a lowly first-rank demon slayer to dare provoke her—she must be tired of living.

Sang Chu couldn’t help but gulp: [Oh my god, why are there so many big shots in the demon realm!]

[This is a high-level world, otherwise why do you think so many travelers die here? You’d better be careful. I think this world is really dangerous.]

Sang Chu: ""..."" No need to think—it’s obviously a dangerous world!

Looking at these people, they were all big shots. How was a weakling like her supposed to survive?

Luckily, her acting skills weren’t bad...

The female demon slayer saw the Nine-Tailed Fox’s expression turn icy, but she didn’t look panicked at all, not even after being hit.

Fox: “You insignificant thing, how dare you stir up trouble here?”

As he spoke, he turned to look at Sang Chu, instantly putting on a different face, acting to perfection: “Little sister, is there anything you like here? Tell your big brother, I’ll get it for you.”

Sang Chu: “Brother Fox, I—I’m from the Wood clan. Do you have any magical artifacts I could use?”

She’d just noticed the artifacts on the stall, and it occurred to her that she could bring some back to the apocalypse—her brother could use them too.

The fox looked Sang Chu up and down: “Sister, not to be mean, but you’re too weak. Even the newborns in my clan are stronger than you. Even if I gave you a good artifact, you wouldn’t be able to handle it. By the way, how many demon pearls do you have on you?”

Sang Chu’s heart skipped a beat, afraid he’d rob her. But then she thought, even if he wanted to, she couldn’t stop him anyway.

“Just—just five thousand. I already spent a hundred here.”

Hearing this, the fox was stunned, and even the big tiger next to him was surprised.

The fox immediately burst out laughing: “This little one is interesting. Haven’t seen such a silly cub in a long time—definitely from that bunch of blockheads in the Wood clan.”

Sang Chu: “......” I’ve never met such blunt demons before...

Fox: “So, little one, what do you want to buy? I’ll go with you, and after you’re done, you give me whatever’s left. Tomorrow, come find me at the market and I’ll give you something good in return!”

“Brother Fox, if I give you everything, I’ll have nowhere to stay...”

The fox was momentarily speechless. The big tiger next to him said, “Little one from the Wood clan, didn’t you want earth? I’ll give you all the earth you want for a hundred demon pearls...”

He hadn’t finished when the fox cut him off: “A hundred pearls for your dirt? Why don’t you go rob someone!”

“My earth is seven-colored earth, not like your cheap stuff.”

The fox got angry and went over to argue: “How is mine cheap? Say it clearly!”

“Cheap? You know as well as I do that your stuff is just ordinary earth dug up from Butterfly Valley. You sell it to this little cub for one pearl, but my premium seven-colored earth is worth a hundred—what’s wrong with that? I’m not stopping you from selling your stuff, so don’t get in my way.”

“You’re just spouting nonsense! Tell me, what are you selling to this little cub that’s so great? Is it the Beauty Pill? With that, she’ll look better right away—what girl doesn’t want to be pretty? Or is it the Whitening Pill? That’ll make her skin fair and beautiful—who wouldn’t want that? Tell me, who wouldn’t?!”

“...”

Sang Chu had no idea why they suddenly started quarreling.

“Brother Fox, I’ll just buy a little seven-colored earth. There’s not much of it anyway. Then I’ll get a dragon pearl and some small things. The rest of the pearls, I’ll give to you, okay?”

The Nine-Tailed Fox wasn’t really after her demon pearls. She didn’t know what he wanted from her, but at least for now, before he got what he wanted, he’d keep her safe.

The fox didn’t know what Sang Chu was thinking. His cunning eyes looked at her and he smiled, “Alright, if that’s what you want, let’s buy it.”

Sang Chu nodded and walked over to the tiger, handing him the pearls: “Brother Tiger, here are a hundred pearls.”

The big tiger counted the pearls, then handed her the seven-colored earth: “If you want to buy a dragon pearl, you’d better ask Old Lady Yu.”

Old Lady Yu?

Sang Chu was taken aback. Was the tiger giving her a hint?

“I understand. Thank you, Brother Tiger.”

With the earth in hand, Sang Chu breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t know if these things would work in the apocalypse, if they’d be protected from acid rain and corrosion.

Hopefully, she could use them to grow plants in the apocalypse.

The fox put away his things and walked over to Sang Chu: “Sister, what else do you want to buy?”

“I want a dragon pearl with strong illumination, and some small odds and ends.”

As she walked over, she saw someone selling glowing dragon pearls—some lit up with a tap and went dark when covered, perfect for the underground city.

Although there were lights in the apocalypse, they were mostly powered by ability users. If she had these, she wouldn’t have to waste energy on daily lighting.

In the Monster World, there was no electricity. All lighting depended on special building materials that absorbed light and glowed on their own.

Even construction machines couldn’t replicate the light-sensitive lighting of the Monster World.

Sang Chu followed the fox all the way to the far end of the demon market. “Sister, let me tell you, a lot of things in this market are just for show. The ones you saw earlier were probably sea demons attaching their power to human items. If you want something really good, you have to buy from the elders.”

Sang Chu: “...” You make it sound like elders never scam people.

“Brother Fox, I heard the Demon Lord forbade cheating in business. Why are there still so many scams?”

The fox chuckled: “That rule only applies to shops with a license. The rest of us are here today, gone tomorrow—who’s going to regulate us?”

Sang Chu nodded thoughtfully: “Brother Fox, are all the elders as powerful as you?”

The fox didn’t answer, just smiled at her. That smile made Sang Chu’s hair stand on end—she felt like the fox could see right through her, but wasn’t saying anything.

“We’re here. This is Old Lady Yu’s stall. Whatever you want, just ask her.”

The fox led her to a small stall. The owner was an old lady with a kind smile: “Fox boy, what do you want to buy today for the little one in your family?”"
