Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Just Like Your Dad, Clumsy with Words

Reborn in the 1980s Becoming the Group's Darling Little Lucky Treasure

After everyone had left, Xu Shuhua looked at Yu Hai and started laughing. “Fourth, how come I never noticed before—you’re actually pretty quick with your words!”

Yu Hai chuckled sheepishly. “I take after Mom!”

Yu Nuannuan thought: That’s some top-tier flattery right there!

Xu Shuhua nodded in agreement. “Of course you take after me. Unlike your three brothers—they’re all like your dad, clumsy and tongue-tied.”

Standing off to the side, Yu Zhenmin and the other three brothers all froze for a moment. Was she just pretending they didn’t exist?

But then again, thinking about it, Xu Shuhua always talked like this, whether they were there or not.

Oh well, they were used to it by now!

Qin Yuelan wiped her eyes and walked over to Xu Shuhua, thanking her earnestly. “Auntie, thank you so much for today. If it weren’t for you all, I… I really wouldn’t have known what to do!”

“You!” Xu Shuhua sighed. “Now that you’ve split off from the family, you need to toughen up a bit. Even if not for yourself, you have to think of Daibao.”

She could help for a while, but she couldn’t help forever!

Qin Yuelan understood this and nodded firmly. “Auntie, I know what I need to do now.”

Xu Shuhua wanted to ask what exactly Qin Yuelan had figured out, but thought better of it and didn’t press. “As long as you’ve thought it through, that’s what matters. Alright, it’s been a busy morning—take a break, it’s almost lunchtime. We’ll head back now; Nuanbao needs her nap.”

Xu Shuhua had made herself clear, so even though Qin Yuelan wanted to invite them to stay for lunch, the words stuck in her throat. All she could do was hold Gu Mo’s hand and watch as Xu Shuhua and the others walked away.

Yu Nuannuan lay on Xu Shuhua’s shoulder, watching the tiny figure of Gu Mo standing straight and tall beside Qin Yuelan, and couldn’t help but sigh for him in her heart.

With a pushover for a mom, Gu Mo’s road ahead sure won’t be easy!

When Xu Shuhua and the others got home, Yu Hai took out the money he’d earned that morning and handed it to Xu Shuhua. “Mom, we sold all the dried figs—made twenty-eight yuan in total.”

Looking at the money, Xu Shuhua nodded in satisfaction. “That’s a pretty good haul. Next time, let’s pick all the figs from the mountain and dry them. This could be a long-term business.”

Xu Shuhua had always been thinking about what kind of business could last for the long run.

After all, fruit is seasonal. Once the season’s over, even if they have some left, they can’t sell it anymore.

But the dried figs had shown Xu Shuhua something: Even if you can’t sell fresh fruit, you can sell dried fruit!

Dried figs tasted great—so what about dried strawberries? Wouldn’t those be delicious too?

As Xu Shuhua thought about this, she glanced at Yu Nuannuan.

Looking at the tiny Yu Nuannuan, Xu Shuhua sighed inwardly.

Nuanbao was still too little. There were some things she just couldn’t explain to her yet, and who knew if she’d be able to make dried figs again next time, let alone dried strawberries.

Yu Nuannuan felt Xu Shuhua’s gaze and looked over at her in confusion.

The two of them stared at each other for a while, but Xu Shuhua didn’t say anything. Yu Nuannuan tilted her little head. “Grandma?”

Her voice was soft and sweet, full of confusion.

Xu Shuhua ruffled Yu Nuannuan’s hair. “Nuanbao, are you hungry? Lunch will be ready soon. How about I steam you an egg custard?”

The older Yu Nuannuan got, the more she could eat.

Lately, she’d been asking for steamed egg custard every day.

Thinking of the fragrant, silky custard, Yu Nuannuan nodded vigorously. “Yes!”"
