Chapter 3: Snatching Back the College Acceptance Letter
Reborn in the Eighties: Remarrying a Soldier
There was no way Fu Mingxue was going to let her get it back—she immediately took a big step back.
When she saw the name on the envelope, she nearly burst into tears.
As expected, it was hers.
It was Bai Siqi who had stolen her life.
It was Bai Siqi, Song Yan, and their three children who had wasted her whole life.
“Give it back to me!” Bai Siqi was truly panicking now.
She lunged forward, trying to snatch it.
But Fu Mingxue wasn’t about to let her take it again—she slapped her across the face.
“Bai Siqi, this is clearly my letter, my college acceptance letter! How did it become yours? Don’t you have any shame?”
Bai Siqi clutched her face, staring at Fu Mingxue in disbelief.
Wasn’t she supposed to be in the river? How could she be here?
No, she couldn’t let Fu Mingxue have the college acceptance letter.
“This, this is mine—”
“If your eyes don’t work, go get them checked. It clearly says Fu Mingxue on it. What, are you trying to impersonate me? Or are you just planning to steal my college acceptance letter outright?”
Bai Siqi’s face turned pale.
At that moment, the postman looked at the two of them suspiciously. “Which one of you is Fu Mingxue?”
“I am—”
“I am.”
Two female voices rang out at the same time.
Hearing Bai Siqi answer like that, Fu Mingxue didn’t hesitate to slap her again.
“Just as I thought, you’re trying to steal my college acceptance letter.”
Bai Siqi was furious. “Fu Mingxue, how dare you hit me?”
Fu Mingxue slapped her again, then sneered, “Bai Siqi, you idiot. You can’t get in yourself, so you have to steal someone else’s? Are you really that shameless?”
Then she turned to the postman. “You heard her just now—she called me Fu Mingxue. And you—how could you just hand over such an important acceptance letter to someone else?”
The cold questioning made the postman break out in a sweat. “I—I’m sorry. I thought she was… she stopped me just now and said she was Fu Mingxue. I really didn’t expect someone would pretend to be someone else—”
“I’m calling the police right now. When they get here, just tell them the truth.” Fu Mingxue showed no mercy.
Whenever she thought of her miserable previous life, her heart ached with hatred.
She was supposed to have a wonderful life, but it was stolen from her by others.
Sweat poured down the postman’s forehead—if the police got involved, would he lose his job for negligence?
When Bai Siqi heard Fu Mingxue say she was calling the police, all the color drained from her face.
Just as she was panicking and didn’t know what to do, she caught a glimpse of Song Yan running over.
Her eyes lit up instantly. “Song Yan—!”
When Fu Mingxue heard that name, her face darkened.
If those two teamed up to go after her and snatch her acceptance letter, she really wouldn’t be able to fight them both.
Especially since Song Yan had friends at the police station.
Thinking of this, she turned and ran.
She couldn’t let them take her acceptance letter.
She ran with all her might, shouting as she went, “Bai Siqi is trying to steal my college acceptance letter! Bai Siqi is trying to steal my college acceptance letter—!”
Bai Siqi hadn’t expected Fu Mingxue to pull a stunt like this, and her face changed dramatically.
“Fu Mingxue, you’re lying—!”
At that moment, Song Yan reached her side.
Bai Siqi immediately grabbed Song Yan’s hand, on the verge of tears. “Song Yan, go after Fu Mingxue! She’s trying to ruin me—!”
Seeing her so anxious, Song Yan’s heart ached for her.
He comforted her in a low voice, “Don’t worry, I’m here!”
Then he hurried after Fu Mingxue."
