Chapter 103: MK3 Grenade

I Farm In The Apocalypse

Zhang Qiang was lucky—the car had flipped to the driver’s side, and he happened to be sitting on the incoming stone. He reached out, grabbed the bomb, and crawled out through the window.

He couldn’t care less about the oddity of the situation; trembling with both hands and feet, he admitted he was terrified to death. All he wanted now was to escape this place, but it seemed like some liquid had been poured over his head.

“Is it raining from the sky?”

“What smell is that? Why does it smell like gasoline?”

“Pfft, who the hell poured gasoline all over my face?!”

“Really, it’s raining gasoline!”

Everyone inside the car was crammed together and couldn’t move. Only a few managed to crawl out through the windows, prompting the people inside to panic: “Stop talking nonsense! Are you all dreaming? Where else could there be…”

Before they could finish their sentences, over a dozen lit branches flew in from a distance. After tracing beautiful arcs through the air, they ignited the gasoline-soaked cars completely.

With a loud boom, the entire dark city of Wucheng was finally illuminated by two brilliant sparks. The screams inside the cars grew louder, and some of the people who had just crawled out couldn’t escape in time and were engulfed in flames. They ran while screaming pitifully, even rolling on the ground, but it was all in vain.

Jing Shu mimicked a 360-degree, no-dead-angle sprinkler method, lavishly pouring gasoline. Without extinguishing the flames, how could anything be put out?

Wang Dazhao trembled, watching everything unfold while breathing heavily and sweating coldly. Seeing the hellish situation before him, he suddenly understood Jing Shu’s words: "Run quickly, or you might die."

Fortunately, he had always been prepared to climb out of the car without hesitation if it flipped, and he managed to escape before anyone else reacted.

Otherwise…

“It’s better to be alive,” Wang Dazhao thought.

“Boom!” With a loud explosion, both minivans blew up one after the other. The smell of burnt flesh and the scent of smoke filled the air, and a small mushroom cloud soared into the sky. For a moment, thick smoke and flames were visible for several kilometers around, but the screams gradually diminished and became fainter until they were almost nonexistent.

Jing Shu had long been searching for survivors in the darkness with her crossbow, starting to eliminate enemies who weren’t on fire one by one. She didn’t kill the innocent, but those who dared to bomb her villa had to be prepared to meet their end.

As she continued to eliminate them, she carefully collected the intact conical giant stones back into her space. Some had shattered or broken due to high speeds and car collisions. In total, she had fired out 25, but only retrieved 18. It took her the entire day to grind out two more.

“Help! Help!” Zhang Qiang desperately slapped his face and shoulders. Just as he felt something being poured on his face, the fire had already started.

The loud, pig-like screams caught Jing Shu’s attention. Turning her head, she saw the tall, two-meter-tall man holding a box—none other than She Tian’s third member.

Staring at the box, Jing Shu’s eyes lit up again. She retrieved a climbing rope from her space, quickly wrapped it around the man from behind, and without a word, seized the box. Then, she kicked the tall man down to the ground, stomping on him several times. It turned out she could indeed extinguish the fire!

The tall man’s pig-like screams echoed dramatically.

With the man crushed under her foot, Jing Shu’s gaze shifted to the box. The box wasn’t locked; pressing the open button revealed six fixed hand grenades labeled MK3.

“Yes, MK series are classic grenades used by the United States since World War I, also known as pineapple grenades. They have evolved into the current MK3 series, which are in active service grenades known for their immense power! They once had the honor of obliterating everything within fifteen meters.”

Jing Shu lovingly touched the grenade.

“Great, now I have an additional life-saving skill. It’s a pity there are only six—no waste for today’s investment and the loss of those giant stones.”

Indeed, She Tian had only two grenades when they robbed the police station last time. Now, with a few more from bombing the oil base, it seemed like new perks were provided from above. Jing Shu was even considering becoming a double agent, first tricking a batch of grenades and guns.

She closed the box and immediately placed the grenades into her space. Naturally, such life-saving items had to be kept where she could access them at any time.

“Jing Shu?” Wang Dazhao was drawn by the pig-like screams. “Are you okay? Did you get the bomb?” Seeing Zhang Qiang crushed and immobile underfoot, Wang Dazhao swallowed hard. How strong was this guy?

“Yes, I’ve secured them. Looks like this is She Tian’s third member?” Jing Shu grabbed the big man.

Wang Dazhao saw his burnt hair and eyebrows, and his half-burned face. If it weren’t for his tall stature, he might not have recognized him.

“His name is Zhang Qiang, She Tian’s second member is Shangguan Jun, and the first member has no name. I heard this organization is nationwide, and our leader is code-named Zero Eight. It seems there are seven others distributed across the country. The person you’re inquiring about, I only know his codename is Zero. He only communicates with leaders at the codename level.”

“Zhang Jun from She Tian is the one who captured him. As for Zero Eight, I’ve never seen him. He only gives orders to these two through verbal instructions…”

As they were talking, the sound of cars approached. Jing Shu saw her own car in the distance, followed by three patrol cars with headlights shining on Jing Shu and Wang Dazhao, along with the half-dead Zhang Qiang.

BYD Song screeched to a halt with a harsh braking sound. Jing’s mother ran out frantically, both cursing and crying.

“Why can’t you kids be more careful? We’ve been waiting there for so long and didn’t see any cyclists approaching. Instead, we arrived at the agreed spot where Officer Yang Yang came first. Then we suddenly saw what looked like burning from the sky, and our side caught fire while we hurriedly rushed over. Fortunately, you’re okay!”

Zzzz~

The minivan still occasionally burst with the sounds of burning flesh and oil.

The patrol cars, as before, deployed over thirty armed police officers. Looking at the gruesome scene and burnt bodies, they shuddered involuntarily. One of the burnt cars still had a giant stone piece inside.

Yang Yang’s handsome face finally showed surprise. He used a flashlight to casually flip through a few corpses and said:

“Miss Jing, can you explain what’s happening here? The giant stones and rubble at the scene, and the lingering gasoline smell—did you shoot these people? Don’t be nervous, I’m just curious.”

If the previous villa massacre of dozens was a coincidence, then this time—deceiving her parents, solo burning over a hundred people—was definitely not. The naive couple had thought the other side was two separate groups, but Yang Yang knew it was one group. This time, it was this woman’s deliberate act.
